Obama Legacy: Demoralized Military – Militarized Federal Agencies

Obama-militarization

By Valerie Love

This headline was in the news today: Americans No Longer Believe the US Military is Leading the World:

“According to a new poll from Gallup, for the first time since 1994, Americans are less likely to see the U.S. as the world’s number one military power.”

“In a question which asked if America is “No. 1” or just one of a number of world powers, only 49% of respondents put the U.S. at the top. The percentage is a significant drop from 64% in 2010, and equal to the number of respondents who listed America as just one of several countries.”

Military poll

Is there any wonder that Americans’ confidence in the military has slipped with a commander-in-chief who has decimated the military and destroyed the military from within? His reckless leadership has demoralized the U.S. military.

Even the Stars and Stripes are reporting: Russia hit 1,888 targets in Syria in a week; US count? Just 16.

Russia made it clear they will ignore Obama and keep bombing the “moderate rebels” Obama has supplied with weapons. What kind of leader supplies terrorists with weapons under the guise of calling them “moderate rebels”? He is a joke, an embarrassment.

Yet the very same president who has torn down our military has simultaneously built up a militarized police force among federal agencies.

An April 28, 2014 article: The United States of SWAT? indicated:

“Military-style units from government agencies are wreaking havoc on non-violent citizens.”

“Regardless of how people feel about Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s standoff with the federal Bureau of Land Management over his cattle’s grazing rights, a lot of Americans were surprised to see TV images of an armed-to-the-teeth paramilitary wing of the BLM deployed around Bundy’s ranch.”

SWAT tax collectors

“They shouldn’t have been. Dozens of federal agencies now have Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams to further an expanding definition of their missions. It’s not controversial that the Secret Service and the Bureau of Prisons have them. But what about the Department of Agriculture, the Railroad Retirement Board, the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Office of Personnel Management, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service? All of these have their own SWAT units and are part of a worrying trend towards the militarization of federal agencies — not to mention local police forces.”

“Law-enforcement agencies across the U.S., at every level of government, have been blurring the line between police officer and soldier,” journalist Radley Balko writes in his 2013 book Rise of the Warrior Cop. “The war on drugs and, more recently, post-9/11 antiterrorism efforts have created a new figure on the U.S. scene: the warrior cop — armed to the teeth, ready to deal harshly with targeted wrongdoers, and a growing threat to familiar American liberties.” The proliferation of paramilitary federal SWAT teams inevitably brings abuses that have nothing to do with either drugs or terrorism. Many of the raids they conduct are against harmless, often innocent, Americans who typically are accused of non-violent civil or administrative violations.”

The Wisconsin Supreme Court just dealt a death blow to the Fourth Amendment:

If this can happen with the police force, it can happen with a federal agency.

“Once SWAT teams are created, they will be used. Nationwide, they are used for standoffs, often serious ones, with bad guys. But at other times they’ve been used for crimes that hardly warrant military-style raids. Examples include angry dogs, domestic disputes, and misdemeanor marijuana possession.” – National Review Online

America now has at least 73 federal agencies that employ armed personnel. For example, the EPA spends $75 million each year for criminal enforcement:

“The Environmental Protection Agency has spent millions of dollars over the last decade on military-style weapons to arm its 200 “special agents” to fight environmental crime.”

“Among the weapons purchased are guns, body armor, camouflage equipment, unmanned aircraft, amphibious assault ships, radar and night-vision gear and other military-style weaponry and surveillance activities, according to a new report by the watchdog group Open the Books.” …

“The agency spends nearly $75 million each year for criminal enforcement, including money for a small militia of 200 “special agents” charged with fighting environmental crime.”

According to this article: EPA spends $75 Million Building Militarized Police Force: Over 70 Federal Agencies now Armed:

“While the politicians in Washington work to disarm the American public, they are arming themselves at a record levels. We now have 73 federal agencies that employ armed personnel, with 24 of those agencies employing more than 25o full-time armed officers with arrest authority.”

It isn’t so much that the military isn’t leading the world, it is where it is leading it to that they are becoming aware of, quickly.

One of the big answers/solutions is: Smaller Government. Shrink the size of government, by shrinking its power (nullifying regulations, unnecessary or redundant laws, and Executive Orders) to insert itself into the lives and businesses of The People and there would be no need for militarized federal agencies. The US Government and the elected representatives that were entrusted to run it have become unaccountable to The People and are entrenching themselves for personal enrichment at the expense of everyone else. Smaller government will result in distribution of wealth on individual merit, prosperity for more, and accountability for those who fail – something political and academic elites avoid at all costs.

    • Reverend Draco

      Shrink it to death.

Small government is no answer – what is made small can be grown again.

It needs to be gotten rid of, lock stock and barrel. For our safety as well as the safety of future generations.

      • Frank

With that approach, you advocate chaos.

        • Reverend Draco

          Not at all.

Strange, that the military would be weakened at just the time the police are being strengthened. Seems like cross-purposes.

Obama’s legacy will become the how-to guide for the systematic de-construction of a Constitutional Republic. Granted, there was an already weakened foundation in place, but Obama has achieved more damage in two terms than even Bush. And that’s saying quite a bit, considering Bush’s proclivity for relying on waging foreign wars to advance his handlers agenda.

The cops today remind me of what the cops looked like in the tv show Dark Angel. Remember those sector police/checkpoints?

It is called war on the people and if the people do not wake up to that fact they will be in for a world of hurt soon. First thing realize it is a fight, second thing fight to win.

We have a Constitution that spells out the limits imposed on the government, both state and federal. They don’t follow it. They have violated the Constitution and will continue to violate it until they are stopped.
Some people think a Constitutional convention will give us the opportunity to change the Constitution and suddenly the government will follow it. But if they refuse to follow the Constitution now, what makes you think that they will follow it after it’s been changed? They won’t. And the risk of ending up with some communist constitution that repeals all our rights, a very real possibility, just on the off chance that the government will suddenly start to follow the rules isn’t worth it. The problem isn’t the way the Constitution is written. It’s our fault for not holding their feet to the fire and forcing them to follow the Constitution.
The power of the government comes from we the people. The government works for us. We should have never allowed them to violate the Constitution in the first place. But after they did, nobody said anything about it, so they did it again, and again, and again. Every agency the federal government created is a direct violation of the Constitution. There should be no CIA, NSA, FBI, etc. All these armed and dangerous agencies are to the detriment of the people. They have been used to control us and oppress us and change the way we do things without our consent.
The department of education has been responsible for keeping us ignorant of the Constitution and the laws. They have kept us from becoming aware of the fact that the department of education should never have existed. And now they are working to shove common core down our throats.
The ATF or BATFE has been responsible for enforcing the unconstitutional gun control laws and violating the rights of the people. It’s another unconstitutional agency.
The BLM has been responsible for violating the property rights of the people. They start fires, fence off private property, steal from people, block people from accessing their public water rights, etc. It is an unconstitutional agency that should be dissolved.
Basically every agency is responsible for ensuring that when the federal government violates the Constitution, it stays violated.
And so many people fall for this crap. They actually will make excuses for them. They will argue in favor of all these armed agencies as if nobody can call the police anymore. These people are so brainwashed that it may not be possible to get them back to reality. But that’s their problem. The point is that the federal government has no right to create these armed agencies. We the people should be the ones with the arms. We should be the ones who control the government. And the things that these agencies are doing should be done by us. We should be responsible for running the schools, the parks and controlling our own property rights. It could easily be done by us creating private entities that look at the situation and determine the best course of action. People figure things out all the time. Government just screws up everything and costs a fortune doing it. The sooner they are cut out of the picture, the sooner we can be free to do what we want. And without a government motivated by greed and power, we will no longer have all these unnecessary wars. Things will be better without government.

The Constitution as we know it will soon no longer exist. Obama is NOT stepping down in 2017. Now that one of his biggest dissenters, Scalia, is gone he just took another giant step toward his dictatorship. If the GOP allows him to choose the replacement justice he will have a clear path to doing anything he wants. It will also show how crooked the Republicans are. He has been slowly putting all his eggs in one basket and this year will show us all that he alone is in control. Military leaders fired, muslims in his own military, FEMA camps, racial division. All signs of the upcoming hostile takeover.

      • SP_88

They passed a law during the 60s that outlawed second term appointments. So if Obama does appoint another justice, he is breaking the law. I know, not much of a deterrent for him, but if he does it, it will be another example of his lawlessness to add to an already big list of illegal and unconstitutional actions by this president. But also, if he does it, the supreme court will be so far to the left that there won’t be anything we can do about it. They will be able to do all sorts of things to push America further towards communism.
This is all part of a plan that was put in place long ago.
I admire their ability to carry out such a long term plot with such thoroughness and effectiveness. This communist infiltration of our government has been a long time in the making. They had set goals and took the necessary steps to accomplish them. And with so many people involved over several generations, they were still able to do a good job of it. They managed to indoctrinate a majority of the people, get certain people put into powerful positions in government, take control of our media and our medical industry and our financial institutions and our education system, and they did it with minimal outrage from the people. And now there are only a few things left to do before they can completely drop the hammer on us. They need to take control of our alternative media, disarm the population and put a damper on the 2nd amendment and make sure that we are unable to effectively start a revolution to stop them.
If only we were able to put a plan together like this to defend ourselves and our country from these communist tyrants. There are a lot of people who think the same thing as this, more or less, but they are spread out and unorganized and they don’t have a way to communicate a unified idea, or plan a cohesive course of action. And without that, I don’t think that they will be stopped.

Washington State Constitution: Article One Section One:
All political power is inherent in the people, and governments derive their
just powers from the consent of the governed, and are established to protect and maintain individual rights.

Who are you? Are you one of the People with unalienable rights or merely a citizen subservient to government with your mere privileges the government can regulate away? Government operating without our consent is not operating under justice. It is operating under the force of tyranny. Periodically freedom has to be refreshed with the blood of patriots. I’ve given my blood but its not enough without your help.
