Obama Betrays Americans Again…with the “Monsanto Protection Act”

| |

Top Tier Gear USA

Of course, it’s hard to honestly expect President Barack Obama to do the right thing, but many people held out hope that he would veto the most dangerous food act ever to pass the US Congress. After all, one of his campaign promises the first time around was to enforce the labeling of GMOs. His wife has that famous organic garden on the White House lawn. We can trust the Obamas, right?

Yesterday, that slender hope,  the hope that Obama might finally do something for the good of the people instead of the good of the special interest groups that donate heavily to his campaigns, was dashed. Obama, once again, showed that he is for sale to the highest bidder – and this time that bidder is Monsanto. Despite a petition that garnered over 250,000 signatures in just a few days, he signed the Monsanto Protection Act into law, completely ignoring the wishes of the people. In fact, a press release has not even been issued by the White House to give the impression that the highly successful petition was considered.

Food Democracy Now has not given up the battle, however:

We regret to inform you that late last night President Barack Obama signed H.R. 933, which contained the Monsanto Protection Act into law. President Obama knowingly signed the Monsanto Protection Act over the urgent pleas of more than 250,000 Americans who asked that he use his executive authority to veto it. President Obama failed to live up to his oath to protect the American people and our constitution.

Today we’re calling on President Obama to issue an executive order to call for the mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods.

Not only is GMO labeling a reasonable and common sense solution to the continued controversy that corporations like Monsanto, DuPont and Dow Chemical have created by subverting our basic democratic rights, but it is a basic right that citizens in 62 other countries around the world already enjoy, including Europe, Russia, China, India, South Africa and Saudi Arabia.

Join us in demanding mandatory labeling of GMO foods. Now’s the time!

Please take a moment to click the links above and get involved. We’ve lost the battle, but not the war. I’m personally pledging at least one article per week about Monsanto, their incestuous relationship with the government, and their toxic grip on agriculture. I urge everyone to raise a deafening public outcry – every voice adds to the noise that we can create. Let’s make a noise that cannot be ignored.

The Monsanto Protection Act was slipped quietly through the Congress, in the usual devious manner. Officially called the  Farmer Assurance Provision, the resolution puts Monsanto, with all their toxins like the cheerfully dubbed Agent Orange and Round-up, as well as their genetically modified monstrosities, beyond the reach of the judicial system. The courts cannot stop the death brokering company from growing crops deemed to be potentially dangerous. (Ummm….that would be ALL OF THEM that have been produced by the Monsanto mad science club.)

If ever there was a company that embodied evil, it would be the Monsanto Company. Last year I wrote about the company:

The combination of unfettered corporate greed, a eugenics agenda and corrupt political manipulation forms an unholy trinity that could make Monsanto the real Cyberdyne Systems. In the Terminator movies, Cyberdyne Systems created the artificial intelligence computer system Skynet, which destroyed most life on earth and forced survivors to live underground.

Proving once again that fact is indeed as strange as fiction, the Monsanto Company could single handedly cause TEOTWAWKI (The End Of The World As We Know It). Read more at Monsanto: The Real Cyberdyne

Horrifyingly, this is just another step towards the science fictionesque predictions that I wrote about.

While most people are constrained by morals, that clearly doesn’t apply with Monsanto. Now, they aren’t even limited by fear of prosecution.

Pandora’s Box is unlocked, Obama just propped open the lid, and there’s no way to cram the evil back in.

Who else is responsible for this disaster?  The senator who put the Monsanto rider on the bill…

Are you kidding? Look who voted for the bill in Congress….all republicans. Get your facts straight!

      • Anonymous

??? Look it up yourself, your statement is 100% backward. Only one Democrat voted Nay. On top of that, a Democrat President signed it into law. I’m no fan of the Republicans and not defending them, but the greater sellouts here are clearly the Democrats – I admire the single one that had the balls to stand against the rest. Polarizing issues across party lines is an utterly useless and even counter productive way to address them, it’s about time we all stopped playing along with that game. Your party is no less broken than the other one; deal with the issues and do your best to make whatever politicians you’re stuck with get real and do the same.

      • Anonymous

Both parties are corrupt that includes your precious liberal quasi-fascist communist leader Barack Obama who also appointed a few years ago as his “Food Safety Advisor” Former CEO of Monsanto – Michael Taylor. Vote 3rd party or GTFO!

      • sabretruthtiger

Sigh, moron. All republicans and democrats work for the bankers, I’m sick of retarded shills and sheeple posting the left/right rubbish. Your religious messiah is an evil puppet. Wake up!

    • Michael

…and as if on cue, there isn’t a single thread anyone on the interwebs where I won’t find a completely useless, incredibly and willfully ignorant, dumbed down fellow American.

I suppose I could explain to you that there are no Obama phones and that the program you want to refer to but are too ignorant to correctly name was created by Ronald Reagan and expanded to include cell phones under George W. Bush’s second term in office.

      Class braindead conservative.

      • Anne

Oh, you mean the program where people could use a landline phone to reach emergency services, not a free smart phone that’ll help you hook up with your next baby’s daddy. big difference.

        • Michael

          Racist skank.

        • Michael

and they aren’t smartphones; they are basic cell phones and that began under Bush. So I reckon that Bush is the father of baby daddy cellphones.

  • Josh

GMO deregulation has been happening since the early 90s.

It’s almost as if no matter who is president, companies like Monsanto win. Maybe it’s time to look into corporate lobbying in our government. But then the GOP and tea tards would lose their minds, saying it would kill jobs, and the Dems would whine that without them we’d all starve.

I love this site. Ads for gold buying, lots of fear mongering, warnings and woes, “secrets” leaked and knowledge the “elite” doesn’t want you to know. Love it.

“I love this site. Ads for gold buying, lots of fear mongering, warnings and woes, “secrets” leaked and knowledge the “elite” doesn’t want you to know. Love it.” That is the funniest!!

And yes, companies like Monsanto are so entrenched in government from lobbying to ministerial appointments, that if you fired one conspicuously invested member, twenty more would spring up in his place. It’s an institution, and it has a long tradition.

The ruling junta and its lackeys right down to the local level, ARE ORGANIZED CRIMINALS. You can expect the same treatment as you would at the hands of the Sicilian mafia. That this was coming has been very obvious for the last 27 years.

Welcome to Chairman Barack’s fundametal change to user in the new world order and angenda21. All hail Barack

Except that this has been going on for a couple of decades.

Glad to see you’ve finally awoken from your slumber (and all it took was having the black guy get elected).

Shouldn’t the headline read “Washington Betrays…”. After all, HR933 passed the House and Senate before it was signed by Obama.

    • Anonymous

Of course not. Everyone blames Obama for anything they don’t like.

      Say it! I totally agree

Mass propaganda against GMO for several years now.
Food Monopoly??? And just like anything else currency, diamonds, gold and silver, the media, because the world conquerors want to operate a monopoly. 🙁
If people do not want GMO, then do not buy it.
But make it available for people even for yourself when inflation or famine hits America and the rest of the Western world, that’s the intent.
For several millions of years, food harvested from the ground is natural, because it’s grown under the sun and goes through a natural process.
Organic and non-organic food are just term used for sales competition; non-organic food is basically, someone deliberately uses pesticides and spray the environment with chemtrails which slows or kills all organic materials.
Therefore, fruits cannot be grown and ripened naturally like they used to be.

    • NMBC
    • Michael

Well it would help if you understood the problem with GMOs in the United States, that being that there are no regulations that require the labeling of foods containing GMOs. Consumers can’t make that choice because they lack the information to make an intelligent choice. That is the problem.

  • This is a scary time for us, not only is Monsanto taking over food production in the US, but they also bought an incredible amount of land in Mexico to start planting their own corn seeds. Mexico is the leading agro exporter in the world. Imagine what that could mean for everyone.

  • James

It’s stuff like this that makes me wonder what happened to objective journalism. It’s extremely disappointing to see any new outlet sink to sensationalism like this…

  • KittyKat

exactly! all od washington is in on it and Obamanation just so happens to be the fall guy. the face for the betrayal. they are ALL evil sociopaths hell bent on domination and extermination. WAKE UP N.America!!

Wow and Michelle is suppose to be the organic queen. I wonder is she would let her kids eat the stuff signed into office

      • Jean

The Elites always have their OWN food supply… They send the Help out to get the food, you know. That burger came prepared by God almighty himself, dropped right onto that perfect bun in the McDonald’s… (I’m going for ridiculous, in case you couldn’t tell.)

However, as ridiculous as I put it, it’s also VERY true: There’s no thought to where the meat came from, what the meat IS, or that the cow had to be slaughtered, cut up, meat ground, shipped, stored (heh), bought, taken home, prepared, cooked, eaten. We have the mistaken notion in the US that everyone has been through at least some basics in life: Seen videos of slaughter houses, or read about cowboys, or knows James Bond, say (Even though Bond is British.) Some people have never even gone SHOPPING. Combine that with “good intentions” (as in, the road to hell is paved with); and Early Adopter ranking on the product curves – and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. It’s why everyone elected thinks central planning works – they’ve never managed anything involving more than a few people. So they believe there’s no difference between a vureaucrat in D.C. telling an Idaho farmer how to farm, than telling a collaborator on a school product, who MAYBE lives off campus, what to bring to the next meeting.
They are THAT insulated. BY INTENT (IE, that’s the plan.)

I am not going to get political with this,I just say listen to your body.I have always turned to the atkins thing over the years and it works.Ofcourse I slide back to carbs and the cycle starts again. But lately the carbs really hurt me.They are different. There really is something (changed) about all the flour products.I have stomach pains that I can pass out from, joint pain, where I cant move, and I’m so hungry all the time, all effects of G.M.O. wheat. They can grow all this poison they want,if you listen to your body, you wont want this, and they’ll have no one to sell it to.

    • InfoWraith

Nice idea, Bombay..go with a diet that killed its founder…you are never going to be successful on a diet…NEVER. They in thier purest form, are a short term thing. you joints DONT hurt from GMOs my friend. They hurt from Dairy, being overweight and poor choices…just liek I was. Vegan will save your life.

  • Baba Bombay Beetle from London

Eat GM soya crapshit and you will become ill. Ask anybody connected with healthcare and nutrition. Obamacare is an expensive fraud which will cost America dearly. Worse, trends and fads all start in America, then get exported to the rest of the world. Cameroncare is a place where I will pay 2 or 3 times as much money for a tiny fraction of the previous benefits. I catch on average 1 cold a year. This will increase to 3 or 4 or more, plus near constant stomach upsets and cancer risks when you play about with the very fabric of life itself.
GM is evil. Stop the cancer which is Monsanto!

  • Veronica Daze

This is a very controversial topic but they should ban GMOs period. There may be a trade off here to get other things passed for the people. He cannot be impeached because he signed a bill you don’t like. What he is, is a Progressive. Look up Progressive Democrat. There is no such thing as Obamaphones, its an internet rumor that is unfounded. The free to low cost cell phone program was started by the Bush administration in 2008 before Obama was ever in office. Don’t go off on tangents that don’t pertain to the signing of the bill…period. I am sure it can be challenged. Look into that instead of ranting.

This isnt a huge deal all. i mean if you dont want GMO in your food, buy food that is NOT GMO. Very easy..its called Organic…or even…GMO free project foods…whiule they use pesticides and the lot…they at least arent going to give your third generation relative, some rare form of hodgkins lymphoma or something. Try organic food, or as your grandparents called it…FOOD!

Obama like most politicians, and all Democrats, is a vile creature.
