No More Help: 403,000 Americans Lose Long-Term Unemployment Benefits

All told, 409,300 long-term unemployed Americans in 27 states will have lost upward of 20 weeks of federal unemployment benefits by this past Saturday, even as the many state jobless rates remain high… … “A growing number of long-term unemployed workers are being left behind,” said Christine Owens, executive director of the NELP. “Job openings are not taking the place of these cuts,” Owens said. A tier of 13 to 20 weeks of federal jobless benefits, used by the long-term unemployed, are expiring because of legislation Congress passed in February that gradually cuts federal benefits to 79 weeks from 99. That figure includes up to 26 weeks of state-level insurance. “These cuts are coming faster than the economy is improving, which means more workers will have to survive without any jobless assistance and families will have less money to put back into the economy,” Owens said. The Obama Administration Allowing The Chinese Government To Buy Up U.S. Oil And Gas Deposits Worth Billions Of Dollars.
If we are trying to become independent of foreign oil, then why is the Obama administration allowing the Chinese government to buy up U.S. oil and gas deposits worth billions of dollars?
The Chinese government is using two giant corporations to buy up …these energy resources.
The first is the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). According to Wikipedia, this corporation is 100 percent owned by the Chinese government….
The second is Sinopec Corporation. Sinopec Group is the largest shareholder (about 75% of the shares) in Sinopec Corporation. And as the Sinopec website tells us, Sinopec Group is owned by the Chinese government….
This is a good vote getting move, he lets these people lose their “benefits” then promises to reinstate them if he gets another term in office and VOILA! 403,000 instant Democratic voters that are block voters, a smooth move actually if I am correct.
No one votes for false promises. People want decant jobs and not the garbage low skill,low service. Oh well no one has confidedence and will not go into debt to support the elite. Am sick pf stores asking me for a buck to support their tax writeoffs tp charit
I have an idea maybe a nonprofit can be started for the unemployed the way they are started for everything else under the sun. The nanny state supports them too. Poor corporations cannot make money without gov aide. Also a free workforce they call volunteers.
A good example why the CCC and WPA needs to be reborn in the USA. A site can be found on facebook. Civilan Conservative Corp and this group is now lobbying Congress to enact these programs. Also the railroads have got involve to rebuild the tracks, stations and bridges for hight speed rail accross the country.
@RailroadMike, That will not be much help as civil construction is now highly machine driven and skilled. Sure there is some labouring but a small percentage. Also the unemployed will not have the skills required.
