NASA Claims to Have Just Discovered a MASSIVE Hole in the Sun

NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) claims to have discovered this gigantic coronal hole pictured above just over a week ago. It is massive, taking up roughly more than 10% of the sun’s surface. Further, this one is much bigger than an earlier hole found last October that measured approximately the size of 50 Earths.

Via SDO:

Coronal holes are the source of a high-speed wind of solar particles that streams off the sun some three times faster than the slower wind elsewhere. While it’s unclear what causes coronal holes, they correlate to areas on the sun where magnetic fields soar up and away, without looping back down to the surface, as they do elsewhere…

The concern, we are told, is not the immediate threat of increased solar winds headed our way as an expected consequence of this new find. The concern is that these coronal holes are getting bigger.

That, and NASA claims they do not know what’s causing this or what will happen if this massive hole continues to spread…

Not like they’d share that information with the public; they seem pretty content to just cover things up instead.

            Since light = heat it would stand to reason that less light would mean less heat should the dark area keep spreading. I’m simply applying common sense here. I don’t know with 100% certainty what this condition means to you and I other than it gives NASA a reason to “stare” at the sun and keep posting video.

            But you’re applying “common sense” to something you might have a misconception about. Sun’s been here for 4-5 billion and it’s here for a bit longer…. Earth on the other hand has about a billion left as far as when the sun will do us in as it starts to heat up .. the big effect of these “holes” is the solar flares.

            It doesn’t say that in the article, that’s the point. Common sense tells me that when the star goes out, it gets cold. I’m not saying that that is what is happening here in this photo. I’m saying “if” this star (the sun) goes dark, it will get real cold real fast.

            Wrong. 5 billion years in the current consensus among solar scientists. But we’ll be fried long before it becomes a Rred Giant that encompass the planets out to Venus. We should be long gone to other habitable worlds in the part of the Galaxy we live in by then. So you may be right on the 1 billion – we can’t really predict the future so accurately yet.

      it’s a coronal hole
      they appear on the sun all the time,
      some bigger, some smaller.
      some polar, some trans-equatorial.
      almost always between sun spot regions (one usually follows the other)
      some high speed particles, a ramp solar wind speed and temp
      aside from some [serious] correlation being discovered (and verified) about coronal holes’ link to geological events (quakes and volcanoes)
      it’s no big deal,

          we just don’t know how thick it is. We cant get to the edge so sorry , cant answer your question. No one is really allowed to the antarctic, a few are under special conditions. The military will shut you down. There were explorers in the 40-50’s that went there, and said that the place is massive. It took James Cook in the 1700’s 3 years to sail around the artic, this is very strange, he said it had a 80.000km circumference, which only makes sense in a flat earth, and the artic is the land beyond. I would love to know the answers to your questions, but it will never happen. The best question really should be is “why are nasa misleading us?”

It has been shipped around,fished around and photographed from space. I can absolutely PROVE to you .(if you are not afraid to have your delusion shattered) that the circumference 11,000 miles as represented on the globe.

            I have just one question – why have these guys not flown across this Antarctic ‘wall’ of ice – then they could prove it to be a ‘wall’ and not a continent – just fly towards it while filming and see what happens – it’s call pioneering & exploration !! –
            they could then tell us how ‘thick’ the disk actually is and what is ‘underneath’ that disc ! Without that, the ‘ball’ theory is not refuted. I think the horizon issue is explained by light ‘refraction; if I remember rightly !
            They are interesting arguments, but how do you explain the view from the space station ? We definitely see a ‘ball’ from there !

            No such thing as a space station.
            Or satellites.
            It’s all done via triangulation and transmission between the ubiquitous cellphone towers.
            Or using cgi, which they are moderately good at, but their images are still easily falsified, eg unmoving cloud patterns for 24 hours, etc.
            Or “sex” written in the clouds.
            This is why planes cannot be tracked in real time over the southern oceans.
            And why there are no direct transoceanic flights between southern hemisphere nations; they all go via the northern hemisphere, which can only be understood once you plot their routes on a flat earth map.
            I know it’s shocking, but sometimes, shocking is exhilarating.

No one , is allowed to explore , even if u were able to , i really doubt you would live to tell the tail. If the earth is flat, they u need to ask why keep it from us? who is doing it. If the horizon is light refractions, then why does nasa go out of there way to make it appear globe-ish on there vids. You dont get live cams streams from any nasa space station, no real photos, all fake. Why, simple out, because nasa is scam. I dont even think the space station is real, there are so many video edit mistakes made my nasa, that we can conclude space station is just another scam. We in a jam here, we cant get high enough to a globe, nor can we get far enough to prove we live in a dome. stalemate indeed. it would be nice if we could explore the artic.         Actually, they are a part of the picture too.
        Most people are aware that UFOs are out there, if you look for them; and they know if you do look for them.
        So, the powers of the air that rule over this fallen domain provide the lights in the sky that people are taught to believe are satellites, ISS, etc.
        In actual fact, there is a watery firmament covering the flat and unmoving earth in a vault-like fashion.
        This vault is solid, but molten, and it prevents vehicular egress, hence the impossibility of space travel.
        It also prevents our atmosphere escaping, which you have probably never wondered why does not happen, if we are indeed a globe spinning in a vacuum at 1000 mph.
        It is very easy for Christians to understand and accept these things, because they are basically what God has told us from the beginning; but impossible for atheists, whose entire worldview is built upon one lie after another.

    If something bad was gonna happen, I wouldn’t expect NASA to tell us anything. We’ll hear about it after the fact when it’s too late to do anything about it.
    I would guess that an increase in solar flares and coronal mass ejections would result from this. That’s what the article seemed to suggest. However, I thought that we were in a period of lower activity on the sun.
    I’m also wondering, is it an actual hole, or just a dark spot? The picture isn’t clear enough to tell.

    As we seem to be approaching WW3, we can infer that the changes in the Sun we’re beginning to witness is a harbinger for his entire vision coming to reality.

      Really, all scientific theories are tendentious lies.
      Sir Arthur Eddington, the originator of the notion that the sun is some sort of nuclear furnace, was well aware of the inconsistencies, but his voice was drowned out.
      But when we realise that no furnace produces a temperature inversion at its surface, then we become more open to the idea that the sun receives its power not from within, but from without.
      As such, its light and heat are controlled moment by moment by its creator, the Lord Jesus Christ.
      “All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.”
      This explains many things, not least of which the knowledge that, even according to the atheist historians Thallus and Phlegon, the sun was extinguished for three hours during the crucifixion of the true Light of the World.
