Florida sheriffs arrested a 33-year-old man on Friday after a “disturbing” drawing depicting a mass school shooting was found in an elementary school student’s homework.

Teachers at a Port St. Joe Elementary School contacted authorities after discovering a picture on a student’s homework that depicted a burning school building with people lined up outside being shot by a gunman. Two people are pictured on the ground in what are presumably pools of blood. The words “Pew Pew Pew” and “AHHH! It burns!” were scrawled alongside the gruesome scene.

Detectives assigned to the case quickly determined that Robert Paul Alexander Edwards, 33, was the creator of the macabre art. He was arrested and charged with making written threats to kill or do bodily injury.

It was not immediately clear how Edwards was related to the student who turned in the homework.

“Our country has been affected one too many times with horrific school tragedies. We take matters like this very seriously,”said Sheriff Mike Harrison, of the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office in an online press release.

Investigators do not believe Edwards intended to act out the written threat but given the recent spate of high-profile mass shootings at schools and churches across the US, police did not take any chances.

Normally I would be furious over the implications that a drawing is a threat, and I would voice my continuing support for the 1st Amendment.

But looking at the photo of the MS 13 guy, all I can say is ffff him…

Damn, ya beat me to it….
I was gonna say how snowflaky it was to call a very crude, juvenile drawing of stick figures ‘gruesome’ (and it still is), but then I scrolled down further to the pic……..yuppers. To the wood-chipper with the bass turd…….

      Didn’t you know?
It’s not murder when the State does it.

Exactly….it’s not murder….it’s “collateral damage” silly!

“Children of the World Dream of Peace.”

This is a lesson from the prophet Isaiah and Micah, that some day the nations of the world will stop war and so on and will beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning forks. That’s taken from how I was brought up. My parents were really religious when I was growing up, but innocent in their beliefs. I was the one who always questioned everything and I got worse as I got older. So you can see this comes from my religious ideas. As you can see, the people of the world are bringing their swords wrapped in their flags to be beaten into ploughshares.

Then here I have children sleeping amid the debris of war and this warmonger is killing the dove of peace, but the kids are dreaming of something better in the future and their little dream goes behind the general and continues behind this group of people, and the kids are dreaming that [peace] will happen someday. See how the little dream becomes something really beautiful, that someday the nations of the world will abandon war and come together.

What happened up on top here, when we were painting the mural at our studio at a shopping mall, some people who had their kids killed by gang violence came and said, “What are you going to paint up there?” I said, “Well, I have to look at the drawings.” They said, “Could you put my boy or my girl up there? She was killed.” And then they told us her name, Jennifer. This girl, Jennifer, was killed by a young man. She went to help her friend who was hiding with her baby from a man in a motel someplace, and they didn’t have anything to eat or diapers. So Jennifer took her some money and the boyfriend followed her. When Jennifer got to the motel room, the man followed her in and shot her right there dead and then dragged her friend and the child out. So her parents wanted her portrait put up there. They must have told other folks, because before I knew it other people came and said, “I know you, you painted [Jennifer] up there. Could you paint my son, Troy.” So now it’s got like ten kids here, all killed by gang violence in Denver. So the mural took on a new meaning that we hadn’t anticipated. Almost all these kids in here are real people. I put in my granddaughters and their little friends from elementary school. Like more than twenty-five kids from around the schools are in that mural.

The conspiracy theorists have interpreted it in the most naive way, I could say, like they think I advocate war and all these horrible stories.

The nations will do that at the seventh trump not before, when ALL flesh. The good, the bad, even the animals will be put into spirit bodies. We are not there yet.
The book of Revelations is all about the Lord’s Day. 2 Peter 3:9 But, beloved, be not not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. [KJV].
It was about 6,000 years ago our Heavenly Father created Adam and Eve and it is fast approaching His Sabbath. How many of the church house took up the rapture doctrine from the mouth of an ill Scottish teenager in 1830? That say you do not need to know the book of Revelation you going to be gone. I say study to know our Father’s promises to claim them to have peace of mind.

        • I have no idea what you’re going on about. what I posted is the artists description of his painting (of which only part of is shown in the cap above)

    • Is that from DIA?

      • BeverageBob

Yeah it’s all on murals inside DIA….along with a Freemasons Hall plaque and the Horse of the Apocalypse on the exit/entrance roundabout to the airport….fun times!

        • I still remember watching the tornado that scrambled vehicles in the employee parking lot from the ground transportation holding lot while everyone in the terminal was sent into the underground facility that didn’t exist for their safety.

          • BeverageBob

Yeah, it’s rumored that it’s underground facilities are quite vast and that when the shtf it’s where the COG(continuity of government) is going to “rule” from… DUMB…with underground high speed rail connecting allot of other DUMB’s across the country.

          • It is going to become the western terminal for conair, if it isn’t already. It will be an underground version of the Atlanta airport.

I did the exact same crap as a kid. This is nothing but security theatre.

    • Rift

Certainly, oh look the number 33 cropping up again in a shooting scenario, gee wiz what are the odds.

  • John C Carleton

Wonder where these people were when the U.S. Cavalry was heading out to Wounded Knee?

If this drawing was sent to the school with the intention of it being taken as a threat, then I can see charging him with making a threat. But if that drawing ended up in this kids homework by accident, then I don’t think he should be charged with anything.
I don’t think it’s wrong for people to draw whatever they want in the privacy of their own home. It might be in bad taste, it might be disturbing, but it’s his right to draw whatever he wants.
It doesn’t become a threat until he makes the school aware of his intentions. And I would argue that having this drawing end up at the school by accident is not the same as him threatening the school.
Another thing to consider is that the drawing bears no resemblance to the actual school. If this was a drawing that closely resembles the layout of the school, and it had details pertinent to planning an attack, such as the location of entrances and exits, rooms where students are likely to be, etc, then it could be considered to be a serious threat. But this was just a crude stick figure drawing. And while I don’t blame them for investigating it considering our history of school shootings, but I wouldn’t take this too seriously unless the investigation turns up something more that makes this a credible threat.
Statistically, there are a lot more idiots than mass murderers.
