Is one member of Congress attempting to make Obama a dictator?

Congressman José Serrano (D-NY) introduced House Joint Resolution 15 which would remove the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

H.J.Res.15¬†titled “Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President”was referred to the House Judiciary Committee on January 4th.

The Twenty-second amendment sets the term limit for the office of the President to two four-year terms.

The Twenty-second Amendment reads:

Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Section 2. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

The full text of the Joint Resolutions is as follows:

Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled (two-thirds of each House concurring therein), That the following article is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall be valid to all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years after the date of its submission for ratification:

Article–

‘The twenty-second article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.’

H.J.Res 15 has no cosponsors and is not expected to be debated in the House Judiciary Committee.  It is a re-introduction of the exact same Joint Resolution by Congressman Serrano, H.J.Res. 17 from 2011.

But the fact that it’s even on record shows where some members of Congress want to take America.

The States would never pass it. But it does show the kind of people NYers elect to represent them. Shame on you, NY.

Any emergency will do to introduce continuation of gevernment plans. Then we won’t need those pesky elections. Just a Crown.

But the fact that it’s even on record shows where some members of Congress want to take America.

As usual, you are full of shot with this statement. You are also full of shit with the poorly photoshopped picture that is the lead to this article. It is abviously meant to mislead any potential reader. An attempt to mislead makes you a liar. But, lies on this site are the norm.
As an aside, I wonder if your objection would be as strong if say, a republican or teaturd were in the white house. I am doubtful.

    • really???

So you are saying because the photo is poorly photoshopped that the proposed amendment is in fact false? You believe that if Constitutionalists and others that actually like and support our RIGHTS and PROTECTIONS based on the Constituion had a Republican in office and this amendment was proposed we would be any less against it?

You are so wrong. Many in this country dont care who is in office because we know they have ALL failed us and the country for decades. Many of us with common sense can read between the lines and see the problems with this and so many of the other proposals that our “elected” officials submit are NOT for the good of the people. The laws and such all are aligned with the big money and big money is in the hands of a small minority of the populace, yet they have the biggest influence on everything that happens.

Allowing any person to represent those huge money influences without limitations is treason based on what this country was founded on. If you cant see that line and dont feel crossing it is wrong on every level then you are part of the problem. Forget about left-right, Demo-Repub, Lib-Con, those are all the root of our troubles.

Sites like this provide an oblique view of things and sometimes they get it right sometimes they get it wrong. The beauty is they allow something the MSM does not…a different perspective than the ones being fed to you on every channel and in every printed word. Do you honestly feel that your opinion is NEVER influenced by Fox or CNN or NYT or WSJ? I cry BS to that.

So if you feel this site is not for you move along. I hear all the time that if we, moderates – constitutionalists – teaparty – whatever dont like the direction this country is headed to leave. Well considering we all feel that the liberals and current administration is taking us AWAY from what this country was founded on how about YOU ALL LEAVE if you dont like it. I have heard the rest of the world is like you want it to be here so why dont YOU go someplace else that fits your needs.

The last time I checked we were all Americans. The issue is we no longer are loyal to the root of what this country was designed to do. The founding fathers could never have envisioned what we have become today but they built a foundation that could guide us with common sense and restrictions put on the ruling class. This includes big business and elected officials. They left the old world to get away from the opressive laws and lack of freedoms that the constitution trys to give back to us.

They knew that total power totally corrupts. It does not matter if you are a libtard or a teaturd or just some dumbass sitting behind a PC screen. We are all vulnerable to the corruption of power, hence the limits that are set into our Founding documents. But hey, you gotta love this … you have the right to believe what you want and you can thank the Constitution for that, at least for now.

        @ really???

You did not just hit the nail on the head. You one-shotted that s.o.b and shattered the wood below.

        @ncjoe

        You just got schooled bro.

  • ManCavePatriot

What the illustration above demonstrates is that there is virtually NO difference between D’s and R’s when it come to Imperial Presidency aspirations. The Freemason, Illuminati, CFR, Committee of 300, Bilderberger, World Bank crowd all have the same agenda; control of ALL commerce and the subjugation of the middle-class.

  • Lowtolerance

Spare us the drama. This ain’t the first time this turd has tried this one.

    • Jean

Then why is he still sucking wind, instead of pushing up daisies?

  • SKIP

Did anyone NOT see this coming? By now we should all know that once a political big cheese office goes black it is expected to ALWAYS be black from then on. The entire country is going to be Detroited. Dat be right, I muzz be racisssssss.
