House Democrat Just Filed Articles Of Impeachment Against Trump

One month after Texas Democratic Rep. Al Green grandstanded on the floor “I do not do this for political purposes,” a second Democrat has now formally introduced his own article of impeachment against Trump. California Rep Brad Sherman follows the same path as Green, accusing the president of obstructing justice during the federal investigation of Russia’s 2016 election interference.

As a reminder, Green’s criticisms in June focused on Trump’s firing of former FBI Director James Comey, who was leading the administration’s probe into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 elections.

The facts are simple and indisputable. The President fired the FBI Director because the director was investigating the President’s campaign connections to Russian interference in the Presidential Election,” Green said Tuesday evening in a statement.

“This is obstruction of justice.”

That’s actually not true. The facts suggest that Trump did nothing wrong.

Even Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi agreed that nobody has provided a smoking gun to justify an impeachment on the grounds of obstruction. “The only thing that matters are the facts – the facts and the law.” And right now, there’s absolutely no evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians, or that Trump obstructed justice.

Green has rejected that argument, contending that Trump’s actions have already risen to a level demanding congressional intervention.

“This will remain obstruction of justice regardless of the findings of any investigation,” he said.

And now, as The Hill reports, Rep. Sherman argues that Trump’s abrupt firing of James Comey as FBI director in May amounts to obstructing justice amid the probes of whether Trump’s campaign colluded with the Russian government to swing the election.

It cites Comey’s allegations that Trump pressured him to drop the FBI’s investigation into ousted former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn, as well as Trump’s shifting story on why he fired Comey.

White House officials initially pointed to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s memo criticizing Comey’s handling of the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server. But Trump later said in an NBC News interview that the Russia probe was on his mind when deciding to fire Comey.

“In all of this, Donald John Trump has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as president and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States. Wherefore, Donald John Trump, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office,” the article of impeachment states.

Sherman drew ire from fellow House Democrats last month when he began circulating a draft article of impeachment and suggested he might force a floor vote on it… But so far he has only one supporter on his article of impeachment – can you guess who? (Spoiler Alert: Rep. Al Green)

Sherman’s article is unlikely to succeed in the GOP-controlled House.

As this graphic from Statista shows, impeachment is a lengthy process and requires a simple majority from the House Judiciary Committee, the House of Representatives and a two-thirds majority of the Senate.

You will find more statistics at Statista

Still, we are sure The Democrats have the ability to wait this out for another three-and-a-half years, but for now impeachment odds at PredictIt remain low and flat at 10% in 2017.

On WHAT grounds?? Ones that are NOT crackpipe dreams of these libbiot dicktaster wannabes?? I’m no Donny-ite, but this is bullshit.

    • lfthndthrds

It’s bullshit. The leftists throw shit at the wall and pray something will stick..

      • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

If they were only throwing shit at the wall it wouldn’t be so bad. They’re flinging it about hysterically, which can contaminate even the most honest people.

    Much ado about nothing.

Much ado about nothing for THEM is right. Unfortunately their “nothings” are done to screw the Citizenry over by keeping most of them from being able to see the somethings.

  • tonye

Hey, how about impeaching Sherman instead?

  • I think we should indict every member of Congress and let the courts work it out.
It might be hard to find replacements if they knew they might get the same treatment, but an empty office beats one occupied by a criminal anytime.

    • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

I like the way you think.

      • I’ve always been an advocate for “None of the above” on all ballot office selections, with the office going empty for a term where it gets at least the plurality. Just another reason why Dr. Taylor Haynes told me the same thing you did, along with telling me I was a dangerous man:-) I hope he runs for Wyoming governor again, because he might make it the third time.

        • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

When I count the election results – I count every available voter who doesn’t vote as a vote for NOTA.

Obama won with a bare 25% “majority,” Kerry got 24%.

          Nobody got a majority mandate.

          • Elaine.Benes, II

I can proudly say i have been a NOTA voter for 17 years now.

          • Is “none of the above” on every ballot position in your precinct?

          • No one has gotten a majority mandate in a very long time.

          • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

            This is true.

          • Along with having “none of the above” on the ballot for all positions, I’d also require the vote of 50% +1 of the registered voters to constitute a majority of the voters for electoral purposes. If less than 50% vote, it winds up being a none of the above by default.

          • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

I’ve said much the same for decades.

    • Elaine.Benes, II

Indeed my Friend. My thoughts exactly…

  • Phil_Ossifer

And we have about 7-1/2 more years of this to look forward to. The Dems are rapidly making themselves about as credible as people who claim to be UFO abductees. Which isn’t such a bad thing. At the rate the Dems are self-destructing elections will eventually be between the right-wing Republicans and the moderate Republicans. Dems will become just another fringe-kook outfit like the Green, Populist and Socialist parties.

    • YeahRightOkay

…hey…!!!…UFO abductees have way more credibility than these demoturds…and more respect than any demoturd would ever have…!!!

      • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

I was just going to say that.

    • Elaine.Benes, II

      We can only hope!

If they wouldn’t impeach Obuthead they certainly won’t impeach trump.

Not gonna happen. Just more double-speak. All in bed together.

Yep, doing all kind of kinky shit. Indeed they are, my friend…

      • Jeff

Ya know, when we first came to the Sheeple they had some pretty good stories and equally good commenters. Now they rehash the same old stuff over and over and over….

That’s one of the main reasons I stopped reading at other sites.

Last year me an SP had the discussion about how the Sheeple had been invaded. Don’t remember if you got in on that one too.

Certainly seems to have come true, huh?

Every day I come here it looks more and more like the MSM. It’s tiresome.

Weather has been hot (100+ 80s at night) out here in KS. Not taking the heat as well as I used to. Chickens stopped laying for a full week, but I got an egg this morning. Good thing I’m not a big eater.

        • Elaine.Benes, II

Yeah, i have been looking around, trying to find some new stuff to learn about. I have gone about as far as I can I can go with all this. And I can’t even decipher what’s what anymore as far as these sites go. I think this one probably has been “invaded” because it is not IMO putting out any stories with any real meat, but rather sticks to those topics people are easily divided on, and those that seemingly promote the LEFT vs. RIGHT vs. LEFT bullshit that everyone here should have stopped believing in long ago. I hope you are feeling better…I was replying to your last message a couple nights ago when my kid hollared for me and in the meantime the tablet went dead and I lost the message and sorry about that. I know how it is to have shitty neighbors; our new ones called the law on us 3 x in 2 weeks and when that didnt bring the desired action (because their “anonymous” calls were unfounded) they bailed on their lease AND got us evicted by the NEW pig landlords. I really hate everybody and have had about all I can take. All I do is go to work, take care of my kid, and mind my own business and people NEVER stop fucking with me. Anyway, it’s hot as hell here in the nearly Deep South where I am so very fortunate to live (((sarcasm))). Is that why the hens aren’t producing? I eat like a bird too which is good because I can’t afford food for all 3 of us here.

          • Your best route is to use the Internet to read everything that was written by the men who wrote the Constitution that you can find. Some of their women were pretty sharp as well, like Abigail Adams, who wrote as many letters as her husband. Before there was anything but the Pony Express, they had the Committees of Correspondence, which most of us have never heard of, let alone read from. Next to the Federalist Papers, those letters are the best insight into what was happening during that time. Jefferson messed up his right hand at some point and taught himself to be ambidextrous and just kept writing letters. Most of those people were more voluminous than most of our “leaders” are. Thomas Paine is my personal favorite, especially his Age of Reason.

          • Elaine.Benes, II

That’s a good idea. I never really thought about researching their papers and writings but it would probably be a great place to start. Thank you

          • Given “the deliberate dumbing down of america” detailed by Charlotte Iserbyt in her book of the same name, which is available free at, it is the only way to learn the true history of the republic.

          • Elaine.Benes, II

Yes I know about her and the book and have heard her speak about it. I believe every word of it. It is playing out before our very eyes.

          • Kindly spread the word to the majority that are far less well informed than yourself.

          • Elaine.Benes, II

I will continue to do so. Of course my recommendations often fall on “dumb” ears.

          • There are no dumber minds than those who will not consider wisdom from the sides of the head.

          • Jeff

It’s not just here. It’s everywhere. I can’t even talk to most people anymore. Never was good at talking, but when I do there’s a reason for it . Very seldom get half a sentence out without being interrupted–which is a strict no-no in my rule book

My tolerance level for… ahem… people is hovering so close to the zero mark one wold need scientific instruments to read it.

No worries on the tablet; I live on solar power and understand dead batteries quite well.

As for people fucking with you the reason is that they are unhappy and can’t stand to see some else being happy. It’s jealousy.

Nothing wrong with most of the South (I’m Southern) as long as you stay out of the cities.

            Yes. Heat stress.

And I hope you don’t eat like a bird! Many birds eat close to their own body-weight each day. 😉 Better to eat like a snake or an alligator.

If I had more reliable internet connection I wouldn’t hesitate to set up a Disqus-like site so we’d have a refuge out here in web-world.

          • Elaine.Benes, II

Yes, my tolerance level is now less than zero for most all people. I could
easily become a recluse if I didn’t have to work or get my kid out into the world. She is like me in that regard so it would be doable, if only. And don’t get me started on driving, which is worse in the south than anywhere I’ve ever been.
I didn’t manage to stay out of the cities, having lived in both Memphis and Nashville, and would never go back to either. I am back in my hometown now, which was a sort of Mayberry in my youth but has grown into a rather large city due to the military base adjoined to it.
I refuse to have cable so my internet connection sucks as well. I would like to work on that site with you whenever we have access to better technological service LOL.
Hope you have a good day and that the chickies were more productive…BTW, got a new Maine Coon kit – she is a heathen but when she gets in the litterbox (gag) she situates herself with her butt in the box and her two front paws outside of the box I have never in my 40 years of living with the most loco el gatitos seen anything like it LOL

          • Jeff

I have to withdraw from society (which I’ve already done) before my tolerance level reaches zero or bad things happen. If it dips below zero it’s Bonnie and Clyde time.

Hmm… that cuts Shelbyville out so it almost has to be the other one.

No television at all. No phones, no lights, no motorcars… not a single luxury.

Well… that’s not strictly true. I have a fan and oil lamps. I also barter for my neighbors’ wireless interweb. I don’t even use store-bought soap.

The way things are going I truly don’t think we’ll ever have better connections than we have right now. Things are not looking good.

Gonna have to pull up a pic of the Maine Coon Cat. Don’t guess I’ve ever heard of them before I met you. But I certainly relate to the crazy animals. Have a few.

Gotta go do some things before it gets hot. My peaches are ripe! Yeehaw!

Not enough to can, but certainly enough to get sick on.

          • Elaine.Benes, II

I completely understand that. I have not figured out a way to do it because i have not yet figured out how to not have to spend 10 hours of my day going to work, working (for “the man”) and coming home from work. It feels like there is no way out of the “rat race” i was groomed for and indoctrinated into literally from the moment i got to high school (probably before that). The fact that there will be no end to it and even if, no reward whatsoever at the end of it, brings on feelings of misery and hopelessness that cannot be matched. I have never bought real property and have not much in the way of personal property after thirty plus years of this. But i also have no debt, nothing on credit, only living expenses and child expenses which take everything i make. It’s beyond depressing. Gotta keep moving on somehow so i can make sure my kid will be okay.
Did you find a Maine Coon cat? You should get one. It would bring joy. Mine brought two kitten Beanie Babies up the stairs and put them by my bed while i was sleeping last night. Every one ive ever had will fetch like a dog.
            Send me some peaches, Peaches!
Oh yeah and right, not Shelbyville, but not in the same state.

          • Cynical Old Bastard

It’s difficult for most people to “take the plunge” and absolutely impossible for the Normals to do so. Too many fears get in the way.

For me it was easy because there was never any “plunge” involved. I’ve always lived this way. For me the Normals’ lifestyles are as foreign to me as mine is to them. They simply can’t imagine surviving a 107 day without AC and I can’t imagine cooping myself up in a cold box for most of my life.

I’m pretty heat resistant. Get cold when I walk into a store and have to get out quick.

Same goes for winter. I heat with wood (only heat source) and can easily sleep through sub-zero nights with just some blankets and my dogs. In fact, I seldom even close my windows in the winter. If I go into a store in the winter I almost pass out because it’s so damned hot in there.

I abhor when a Normal tells me to “stay hydrated” or “dress in layers.” I reckon I have a wee bit more experience in those areas than they do.

Is it easy living the way I do? I don’t find it all that hard but most people nowadays wouldn’t make it. Even the hardcore “preppers” have no idea what’s in store for them when the balloon goes up. They think all their fancy gear is gonna save them, but I’d bet dollars to doughnuts that not one of them owns a quality handsaw.

I own several. My prize is a K-5 Keystone Defender (ca 1935) and it’ll cut a 2×4 almost as fast a a power saw will. It’s my baby.

Hard to build a house with bullets.

As for the indoctrination? It’s been your whole life. Bells to move from class to class. Morning and afternoon breaks (recess) and so much more.

Even the old Andy Griffith show was propaganda. Anti-gun propaganda. You just have to look at it with the proper mindset.

I wasn’t looking to get one. It wouldn’t survive my dogs. Just wanted to see what they looked like. I checked ’em out and have seen them before. Good hunters.

No can do on the peaches. I ate ’em all. Got pretty sick but it was worth it. The bonus was plenty of June Bugs for the girls. They love ’em. (For those who don’t know, June Bugs are green and love peaches and grapes. The brown ones are Japanese Beetles.)

Still looking for a good site to go. Been kinda reading over at Alternative News lately. Seen a few familiar names but haven’t commented on anything yet.

Been too busy to get on the webs much.

          • Elaine.Benes, II

I used to believe only really strange people could live that kind of life but at this point, I have the utmost respect and admiration for those who do. Whatever the motivation or evil intent behind “the modern world” and advanced technology (if any) combined with processed poisonous food, chemical saturation of the environment, and toxic pharmaceuticals, it has forced mankind into dependency upon it and the masses have counter-evolved into weak, sickly, pale, vitamin/nutrient deficient, mindless, thoughtless, incapable, emotionless, zombies for the most part…shells of the human beings walking around even as late as the 1970s and 80s. We have witnessed it all first-hand. Most will be unable to survive for a week when/if the grid goes down, and will happily surrender when the Gubment steps in to “help” save them from what it created.
You are right about Andy Griffith show, etc. Cut the cable cord a while back but can look back on all the “programs” we watched growing up and thru the present as simply Human Programming disguised as “entertainment”. The Beverly Hillbillies sums up a whole lot of where we are today if you think about it. These are not coincidental things. There is no such thing as a coincidence in The Matrix.
You are the first person I have know to have a power saw for his baby, but it sounds like a good one!
Know all about the June bugs. We had apple and plum trees growing up and they swarmed our yard! I just had one fly directly into my face when walking outside the other day, right between the eyes in fact. Thought I’d been ” hit” for a second there.
I wish I was here today.

          • Cynical Old Bastard

I found a place, Laney. So far I seem to be the only one commenting. Better writers and so far no click-bait headlines.

Not gonna post the link here though. I don’t want the a-holes following. I’ll figure out a way to get you the link.

          • Elaine.Benes, II

Please try to figure out a way…hope you are doing well. Shit really sucks over here. Completely absolutely shut down and am at the maximum level of stress a person can deal with. Good thing I am not a normal person right now. Hang in there…talk to you soon.

Over there as at the Sheeple? Or at home?

I don’t go to the Sheeple anymore. No point in it.

At home I simply refuse to speak to anyone. Again, no point in it. Of course, there is an “approved” list but very few are on it. Those not on the list are either met with outright hostility or cold silence. Most visitors do not stay long.

Had a gal recently “inform” me that I had become a mean asshole.

I told her that I had always been a mean asshole but had learned to conceal it in order to keep peace with the Normals.

I’m thinking I’ll open my profile up for a short time so you can see where I’ve been commenting. That does not violate my strict personal rule against spamming other sites.

Just need to arrange a time frame. If you’ll tell me a rough time (Saturday evening sometime is usually good for me) I can open it up and close it down again when you reply to me somewhere else. Minimum exposure. Minimal danger. Since this is an old thread and the attention spans of these sheeple is less than that of an earthworm I think it will be safe enough.

          • Elaine.Benes, II

Yep, I meant things are bad on the home front Friend. ALL kinds of problems and issues. Mostly stemming from all of my energy being drained by a FT job where I am not an “essential” employee which causes a lot of stress and anxiety and leaves me unproductive for much of anything else when I finally get back home. So, the REAL-LIFE important things get put off, ignored, denied, and otherwise neglected until it’s too late! And now I have several HUGE messes to clean up and a the biggest one has a deadline of about 7 days from now…I too do not speak to anyone except my kid, not because I don’t NEED to talk, but because no one gets it and I can’t deal with that. I am going to see about the profile now and will come back if not up…thank you.

also love this “met with outright hostility or cold silence” and I definitely get it and would love to do it myself, but please consider (and i know you have) it may be counter-productive for us to be “mean assholes” to the normals who possibly are open to joining us in waking up…

          • Cynical Old Bastard

Yeah… I’ve considered (and rejected) it. The information is out there and they have (or had) every opportunity to avail themselves of it.

Not my problem if they reject it out of hand. They’ll wake up quick enough when it all comes crashing down.

The time to take on new students is definitely not when the bullets are flying and the starving zombies are wandering around.

It’ll settle down quick enough… about a month in or so. Make it through the first six weeks and you’ve pretty much got it licked. Ya just gotta worry about water-borne diseases and such. Gonna be a lot of dead folks laying around out there.

Where was all this outrage when Obama was president? Where is all the outrage over Hillary’s meddling in the election? And her illegal e-mail server? And her involvement in the Benghazi attack? And her illegal pay to play scandal?
This is all bullshit. These crooked politicians are involved in plenty of criminal activity and scandal, yet none of them are ever held accountable for their actions.
    It’s all smoke and mirrors.

The Democraps have to try anything that will prevent them from fading into oblivion, and what better way than to come up with something like this that will generate all kinds of media attention for months. Most thinking people will soon figure out that it’s all for show, but the Democraps don’t care as long as people can still see that they’re still there.
