Falcon Heights, MN – Moments after a St. Anthony cop abruptly shot her boyfriend to death in front of her 4-year-old daughter, Diamond Reynolds live-streamed a video on Facebook depicting her dying boyfriend drenched in blood and sitting beside her. According to recent reports, Reynolds’ daughter was inside the car when the cop opened fire.

“Stay with me,” Reynolds told her boyfriend at the beginning of the video before speaking directly to the camera. “We got pulled over for a busted tail light in the back and he’s covered… They killed my boyfriend. He’s licensed to carry. He was trying to get out his ID and his wallet out his pocket and he let the officer know that he had a firearm and he was reaching for his wallet and the officer just shot him in his arm. We’re waiting for—”

“Ma’am, keep your hands where they are!” a St. Anthony police officer interrupted her.

“I am, sir,” Reynolds calmly responded. “No worries. I will.”

“Fuck!” the cop shouted while continuing to point his gun inside the car.

“He just got his arm shot off. We got pulled over on Larpenteur,” Reynolds explained.

“I told him not to reach for it!” the officer screamed at her in panic. “I told him to get his hand up!”

“He had, you told him to get his ID, sir, his driver’s license,” Reynolds responded. “Oh my God, please don’t tell me he’s dead.”

“Fuck,” the officer whispered.

“Please, don’t tell me my boyfriend just went like that,” Reynolds pleaded.

“Keep your hands where they are,” the cop ordered.

“Yes, I will, sir. I will keep my hands where they are,” Reynolds complied while continuing to live-stream the aftermath of the police shooting. “Please, don’t tell me that he’s gone. Please, don’t tell me that he’s gone. Please, officer, don’t tell me that you just did this to him. You shot four bullets into him, sir. He was just getting his license and registration, sir.”

“Get the female passenger out!” the officer commanded.

As Reynolds followed orders at gunpoint, an officer could be seen in the background holding her 4-year-old daughter. After a cop placed her in handcuffs, Reynolds exclaimed, “They threw my phone, Facebook!”

According to Reynolds, the police pulled them over for a broken tail light and callously shot her boyfriend, Philando Castile, to death after he told the officers that he had a firearm and a conceal-and-carry permit. Reynold’s 4-year-old daughter was reportedly sitting in the backseat when the officer fired at least four bullets into Castile’s arm and chest.

“Please, don’t tell me my boyfriend’s gone,” Reynolds pleaded while sitting in the backseat of a patrol car with her young daughter. “He don’t deserve this, please. He works for St. Paul Public Schools. He’s never been in jail, anything. He’s not a gang member, anything.”

Although the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has launched an investigation into the recent shooting, over 100 people gathered at the crime scene last night demanding to know why Castile was shot to death over a broken tail light. Castile would have turned 33 on Friday.

When will we make it NOT OK for cops to shoot people for simply exercising their 2nd Amendment Rights?

    • bosunj

Many more actions like Dallas will be needed.

      • Right to the Point

I’m not sure the greater good will be served that way bosunj. What we should be looking at is the enablers (politicians). If you look at the dynamic that the Politicians have created with the people, it looks exactly like the Domestic Abuser to the Domestic Abuser’s Victim. Will agree that we need a serious reunification of the Body Polis to determine our future. Let’s face it, the Politicians are only looking out for themselves…..

        • bosunj

As the government has no incentive to reign in their enforcers those enforcers must be made to fear the people.

          • Right to the Point

They can be made to “Fear the People” without killing them. It’s a simple formula that our founder’s implemented into the Constitution. It’s the 2nd Amendment, and if everyone would arm themselves, not only would the police, and politicians come into attainment, the people would be a bit politer and we could easily reduce the need for more police and bureaucracies. The sad fact is, the more we allow the government to feed, shelter, and protect us; the more we become victims of their tyranny.

      • Barn Cat

Murdering innocent people is needed? Wow. You’re as dangerous as the Black Lies Matter idiots.

        • bosunj

Cops are neither innocent nor are they people. Your knee jerk defense of the indefensible is much more pernicious.

  • Stewpedaso

I am not licensed to carry and don’t know the rules or senarios one has been trained to encounter especially with the cops…but…it seems to me the man should have asked permission to exit the car with hands in plane view and allow the cop to disarm him for the time being. On the other hand why was the cop checking the passengers I.D. was it because he was a familiar face? “a little weed in the car” also seems suspect…if this man had a felony there is no way he had permission to carry let alone own a gun…some things are not adding up.

    • RandyJ/ProudSurvivor

So the victim is at fault? What about the child in the back seat?? If the victim was licensed to carry and he informed the cop of it, it would seem like there would be a procedure in place for dealing with that scenario. Such as-asking the CCP holder where the firearm was being concealed, asking the holder to exit the vehicle and attempting to visually confirm the location of the firearm BEFORE asking for his ID. Just to avoid a senseless tragedy such as this. The burden for avoiding needless shootings belongs to the cops-NOT citizens! Time will tell, if and when more information comes to light about the actions of both men-but-I bet we’re looking at another trigger happy cop.

      • Stewpedaso

I didn’t say the victim was at fault…I said some things don’t add up. She didn’t start filming until after the shooting so we still only have speculation as to what happened before…hopefully the cop had a body cam and the truth will come out.

        • RandyJ/ProudSurvivor

I interpreted your comments as suggesting that the cop might have been justified if he saw “a familiar face” or if there was some weed in the car. If I misinterpreted your message, I apologize. What doesn’t add up for me is another citizen dying at the hands of common law enforcement over something that I can’t in any way justify as requiring lethal force. Particularly “fear” on the part of the officer, who clearly held the positional advantage, as demonstrated by the fact that he was able to put multiple rounds into the victim before he could even produce his wallet. And all of this with a young, innocent child in the back seat. The more I think about this-the angrier I get….

      • Right to the Point

I’m still trying figure out why his gun was out of holster for a broken tail light.

        • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

It isn’t hard to figure out – he’s a fucking pants-pissing, thumb-sucking coward piece of shit.

          • bosunj

And THOSE are his good points.

          • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

            Aye.

    • Joe2D2

I am licensed to carry and I have been pulled over with my weapon on my person. What I do, is to have all my paperwork in my hands and my hands located on the steering wheel before the officer even gets near my vehicle. They always radio in before they even get out of the car, so there is a little time before they approach your vehicle. I always present them with my driver’s license and my concealed carry permit slowly and ALWAYS keep my hands in plain sight.

With that said, I think the whole goddamned mess is a fucking joke. I shouldn’t need a license to carry a fuckin firearm for defense, nor should I need a license to travel. However, if you don’t have these pieces of fuckin paper and you don’t follow a very cautious practice when dealing with these goons, you may end up murdered like this guy. It’s a fucked up world we live in and you either adapt or perish at the hands of some trigger happy thug in a costume.

      • Stewpedaso

Free men shouldn’t ask for permission

        • bosunj

          Free men don’t have to.

      • berrybestfarm

Adapt or Perish. Absolutely. I for one favor guerilla resistance as my adaptation.

  • RandyJ/ProudSurvivor

How many times have we seen this? It has become all too common. All of this comes back to what cops are allowed to get away with, particularly when it comes to what should be benign traffic stops. We are given almost weekly evidence of what it looks like to live in a police state and myriads of reasons why cops should NOT be trusted. Likely, many commenters today will attribute this to a justified shooting simply because the victim was black, but you can be damn certain that this sort of police behavior has-or will-become SOP for dealing with ALL citizens. It IS trickling up, folks. Wait for it.

  • Clementine

This is not OK but I find it strange that instead of consoling her boyfriend she is more interested in Facebook… if I was in that situation technology would not even cross my mind, much less social networking.

    • Right to the Point

Actually, she should have started filming way sooner……

      • RandyJ/ProudSurvivor

Agreed, but who actually expects a broken tail light to turn out this way? Besides people like us?

        • Jas

          Black people

    • Constitutionalist

If you’ve never been in that situation than stfu. Your body and mind go into a sort of pause and reflexive actions may take over and you’re oblivious that you are even doing them.

      • Clementine

STFU?? I’ve been in more horrible situations than I care to recount. I know all too well about pause and reflexive actions. I also know the way you responded to my comment is rude and immature… good for you… abuse on.

        • Constitutionalist

I said “if.” If you have, my apologies; then you know what i wrote is true. Time slows and our actions are foreign to even ourselves. Your original post seemed to chastise that poor woman.

    • RandyJ/ProudSurvivor

I’m going to give her credit for doing the right thing-especially under duress-by bringing to light yet another dubious shooting by a cop. I admire the fact that she could remain as composed as she did. In fact, she did break down a couple times while the phone was out of her hands. Keeping her presence of mind after witnessing something so horrible-and with her child in the back seat-made it possible for this event to be made public, as opposed to being swept under the rug like so many other murd… er, shootings by cops.

      • Clementine

Boy did she ever remain calm! Which in turn helped keep the child calm. Horrible situation for anyone to endure.

  • jim_robert

Where are the black lives matter folks when you actually need them

    • Jas

George Soros doesn’t pay for this kind of stuff

  • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

A friend of mine just texted me – cops in Fresno just executed someone, too.

    • RandyJ/ProudSurvivor

Sadly, I’m no longer surprised by it…

  • WTS/JAY

That viscous PIG should be locked up and kept away from society. Or better yet, he should be likewise executed!

Proving yet again the only good cop has its brains splattered across the front seat of its cop car

  • Barn Cat

It’s all a lie. The gang member was an armed robbery suspect going for his gun. People here should be smart enough not to believe the official narrative right when it comes out.
