Stephen Bayezes, the owner of Guns and Ammo Gunsmith store in North Augusta, S.C., opened fire on three men who crashed their van through the wall of his gun shop. The burglars apparently though they would make a quick âsmash and grab,â but they werenât expecting Bayezes to do what he did.
The August 9 event led to Beyezes hitting each man at least once. It wasnât something he says he is proud of, but it was something he said âyouâve got toâ do.
âItâs a haunting thought. It literally is a haunting thought when you see the tire tracks, you hear the tires,â he told WRDW TV. âEverybody assures you that you just did what you had to do to protect your family. They say itâll heal over time, but when does time go away? Itâs something that nobody ever wants to do.â
An alarm was set off because of the crash and he was awakened from his sleep to go and investigate. Bayezes tells what happened next.
âShoot the [explicative] and I heard a gun cock,â he said. âI mean they wouldâve shot me, in my mind, with no reservation. If that firearm had been loaded, I mightâve been a statistic.â
âIs this something you ever wanna do in your life?â he asked. âNo. Something you have to do? If youâre forced to it, youâve got to.â
He says it continues to incident continues to give him nightmares. âTwo nights ago I thought I was getting shot by one of these perpetrators,â he said. âWoke up in a cold sweat. I mean I seen the bullet come out of the gun and shoot me. Itâs a nightmare.â
For the suspects in the case, things are far worse than they are for Bayezes. WRDW reports,
The Aiken County Sheriffâs Office says Eddie Stewart and Franklin Robinson will be charged with burglary 1st, grand larceny and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Both suspects are still in the hospital and will be taken into custody once they are released.
The Aiken County coroner says the third suspect, 20-year-old KâRaven Goodwin of Eastover, S.C., died from multiple gunshot wounds on Thursday morning.
Somehow the burglars were able to get away with fifty guns that night. However, all of them have been returned safely.
Once again, police were no where to be found to save Mr. Bayezes. He was dependent upon himself, God and his guns. This is not a shot at the police. It just demonstrates over and over the citizens need to be armed to protect themselves.

God bless the store owner. The scum criminals got exactly what they asked for. Hopefully, the surviving two will change their ways. It’s too late for one.
Too late for one means that not all got what they deserved. Not to worry though, those that didn’t will be back at it again shortly as the revolving door of the court will let them out right away.
What kind of moron would rob a gunstore? Much easier places to steal from.
Years ago when I was a teenager a few men jumped over a fence full of junkyard dogs. Dumb as they could see the menancing dogs and they all but got eaten alive.
Evie, not all gun shop owners live in such close proximity to their shops. I know of several gun shops that have been broken into and tens of thousands of dollars worth of weapons taken in minutes. Consider how many people want weapons now but can’t afford the really good stuff e.g. thieves=pawn shop=less price (when the heat cools down)Watch a pawn shop entry sometime for amusement and you will see the same people always bring in stuff to pawn (fence) and never come pick anything up. If the items are wrapped up or otherwise concealed= WEAPONS!
It’s amazing how great a man can take care of himself with the help of gun fire. God bless the USA Constitutation. Goodbye Obama and bad men everywhere..

A friend of mine wanted a gun store employee to come to his home to look at an old gun. He had to get an ok from everyone else. Very cautious and protective people. They specialize in their field and are often practicing at the range. A lot of dims are trying to close gun ranges because of epa bs.
