Global Patriot Act? UK Seeks Authority to Serve Warrants in America

| |

Britain has been negotiating a plan with the United States which would allow the UK to directly serve wiretap warrants on American communications companies for national security and criminal proceedings.

Via USA Today:

The talks are aimed at allowing British authorities access to a range of data, from interceptions of live communications to archived emails involving British suspects, according to the officials, who are not authorized to comment publicly.

The claim is that everything has gone global and terror is no exception, so this is the only next logical step in combating it.

“Such an agreement would ensure U.S. access to data stored in the United Kingdom in support of law enforcement, terrorism, and other transnational threat investigations and support our partners’ ability to investigate serious crime, as well as terrorism and other transnational threats on a reciprocal basis,” that official said.

Considering how many threats they’ve known about and been able to actually thwart, this surely isn’t about further chipping away at everyone’s privacy along with American Constitutional protections as well as national sovereignty at all.

It’s amazing how fast our borders have disappeared in the technological age.

Congressional approval will still be required, but since this is a “you pat my back, I’ll pat yours” kind of deal, it’s not likely they’ll say no.

Looks like tlhe hogshead lover wants to crawl even further up the arse of America than even Thatcher, or Blair. Grovelling sycophant.

  • I guess they forgot the lesson that they got when they insisted on violating the 4th Amendment before it was written, so we’d have to show them that we remember the sole duty of American citizens that is elucidated in the Declaration of Independence, which should still be in their collective memories.

    — Like England needs a warrant to operates in it’s colonies…(see original 13th Amendment; Act of 1871) The real question is – What the Hell did they do that they are preparing us with this? Did they just get caught at something they they need a retroactive permission slip for?

    • I must have missed this in the treaty of Paris. Would you like to cite it for me?

      • Publeus

        — Speaking of Paris…

Treaty of Paris, signed on September 3, 1783

        Article 5

It is agreed that Congress shall earnestly recommend it to the legislatures of the respective states to provide for the restitution of all estates, rights, and properties, which have been confiscated belonging to real British subjects; and also of the estates, rights, and properties of persons resident in districts in the possession on his Majesty’s arms and who have not borne arms against the said United States. And that persons of any other description shall have free liberty to go to any part or parts of any of the thirteen United States and therein to remain twelve months unmolested in their endeavors to obtain the restitution of such of their estates, rights, and properties as may have been confiscated; and that Congress shall also earnestly recommend to the several states a reconsideration and revision of all acts or laws regarding the premises, so as to render the said laws or acts perfectly consistent not only with justice and equity but with that spirit of conciliation which on the return of the blessings of peace should universally prevail. And that Congress shall also earnestly recommend to the several states that the estates, rights, and properties, of such last mentioned persons shall be restored to them, they refunding to any persons who may be now in possession the bona fide price (where any has been given) which such persons may have paid on purchasing any of the said lands, rights, or properties since the confiscation.

And it is agreed that all persons who have any interest in confiscated lands, either by debts, marriage settlements, or otherwise, shall meet with no lawful impediment in the prosecution of their just rights.

        — Also, in 1213, the Pope made a treaty with King John of England which gave all British lands to the Vatican. There are copious forums regarding this, and this is a matter of great debate, but I’ll sum up in the common vernacular…

        — The United States is England’s bitch. Where London goes, D.C. follows, especially in banking, as money is the most fundamental form of control (in a civilized society, all sustenance flows from money, ironically enough). We won the battle; England won the war. We both kneel to the Vatican.

        — Regarding the original 13th, I encourage you to look that up. England literally and effectively erased our history. It was rediscovered by accident in the eighties. How ever you feel about the Civil War, and whatever you feel about it’s cause; you know nothing real about it without researching the original 13th. To steal our past is unforgivable. I despise slavery. I wanted the war to be about ending slavery, but it wasn’t. It was about England conquering the United States, and making slavery the Law of the Land, North and South.

        Subsequent 13th Amendment

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, EXCEPT as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

*** That exception inverts the meaning of the sentence. Slavery is legal.

Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

*** No state may ban this slavery.

        • In other words, you can’t cite any black letter law to support your allegation that the United States is still a British colony?

          • Publeus

            Paris Treaty 1783

” Prince George the Third, by the grace of God, king of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, defender of the faith, duke of Brunswick and Lunebourg, arch- treasurer and prince elector of the Holy Roman Empire etc., and of the *** United States of America ***…”

            — This is a clue.

            Article 9:

In case it should so happen that any place or territory belonging to Great Britain or to the United States should have been conquered by the arms of either from the other before the arrival of the said Provisional Articles in America…

            — This is curious.

Do your own homework, and stow the snide tone. Some of us have spent decades researching this.

            Get to work…

          • If is isn’t in black letter law, it is illusory and not worth the trouble.

          • Publeus

            13th Amendment

“If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive, or retain any title of nobility or honour, or shall without the consent of Congress, accept and retain any present, pension, office, or emolument of any kind whatever, from any emperor, king, prince, or foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States, and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under them, or either of them.”

            — Vatican > England > U.S. Judicial Branch > The Rest

It’s in all of the Law. The purposeful trend of subjugating the Executive and Legislative Branches with Representatives of the Judicial Branch has eradicated the separation of powers. When most politicians are Lawyers and Attornies, who are effectively accredited by Britain, England rules by default.

          • When was that ratified by the Senate?

          • From the homepage of

If you can’t see where it clearly says “-1867”, you are the one playing spiteful games, not me. I looked it up, now you should corroborate it or STFU!

Do you consider the U.S. Constitution to be Black Letter Law?

          • If it is in its original form instead of that in which it commonly appears, with “updating” of grammar, punctuation, and capitalization, which changes its meaning, as well as the deletion of the introduction to the amendments. The NCCS is the only organization that sells an identical copy, in my experience. Maybe they’d be willing to undertake some scholarly research to prove the prior existence of the original amendment.
