First Amendment Terrorist: Pentagon Says Protests Are Acts of “Low Level Terrorism”

Watch how this works.

First, the government responds to the September 11th attack by passing the Patriot Act, which is purportedly designed to protect us from foreign terrorists. Most of America cheers it on, never realizing that within the act is a broad definition for something categorized as domestic terrorism, or “activities that appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, or to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion.”

Second, they pass the National Defense Authorization Act, which allows them, under the definitions for domestic terrorism set forth by the Patriot Act, to detain someone without trial and forever if they appear to be subverting the newly established status quo.

Third, they declare all federal property, or property being used for political events where Secret Service protection is present, as “events of national significance” through the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act. Undesirable demonstrators operating counter to the official narrative in these areas are herded into court approved free speech zones.

Finally, once the new laws are in place, the government security apparatus begins the re-education of its minions by labeling as “terrorists” anyone who dares speak out or disagrees with their new policy initiatives.

This last step is and has been happening for some time.

Even the very act of assembling with other like minded people to influence policy by petitioning the Government for a redress of grievances can land you on the domestic terrorism list:

A written exam administered by the Pentagon labels “protests” as a form of “low-level terrorism” — enraging civil liberties advocates and activist groups who say it shows blatant disregard of the First Amendment.

The written exam, given as part of Department of Defense employees’ routine training, includes a multiple-choice question that asks:

“Which of the following is an example of low-level terrorism?”

– Attacking the Pentagon

– IEDs

– Hate crimes against racial groups

– Protests

The correct answer, according to the exam, is “Protests.”

“Its part of a pattern of equating dissent and protest with terrorism,” said Ann Brick, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, which obtained a copy of the question after a Defense Department employee who was taking the test printed the screen on his or her computer terminal.

“It undermines the core constitutional values the Department of Defense is supposed to be defending,” Brick said, referring to the First Amendment right to peaceably assemble.

“That’s illegal,” said George Martin, national co-chairman of United for Peace and Justice. “Protest in terms of legal dissent has to be recognized, especially by the authorities.

“It’s not terrorism or a lack of patriotism. We care enough to be active in our government.”

“It’s the kind of thing that happens when you have large security bureaucracies, which is why they need to be kept in check,” Friedman said. “These things tend to occur in times of panic, like after Sept. 11.

After many years of a slow but steady erosion of our right to speak freely, to assemble peaceably, to bear arms, to be safe and secure in our persons, and to be given due process in a court of law, we begin to see the sinister end game emerge.

Our entire system of government, the one established by our Founding Fathers, is being systematically dismantled.

The only way for it to be systematically dismantled is if we allow it to be. If we don’t submit and start to fight them for every step and every usurpation, they will soon bog down and will not be so embolden to keep doing these things without fear of reprisal from we the people.

    • Jean

The problem is, our legislators don’t enforce the requirement of reading the laws before debating and passing them. We don’t get to read until after the bills are passed.

      • dan

they have been paid to work this way..and not by you or I…

  • Justcause

The government has fallen down and it can’t get up, no really there is a culture of corruption that needs to be rooted out. This will be difficult if not impossible without a total removal of the system which would reek havoc. The best way to neutralize these crooks is to implement nullification.

    • dan

with a state militia as the back up force…

  • leonidas any what would constitute a LEGAL protest or expression of free speech?? as i recall, Hitlery pre obama sed it was the patriotic duty of americans to protest against what they didnt agree with. what changed? duh, communism is in placve. Fuck the govt and all loser employees asscoiated therein. blehh. want my guns? sending u bullets first, aholes

    • It appears that you are not familiar with what happened to OWS.

  • leonidas

The big picture is the ultra elite and foreign governments want us fat lazy Americans out of America so they can import more cheap labor to exploit our natural resources. They want to make criminals out of the older people and brainwash the younger able bodied people into being slaves at the same time. Completely disarming people is not the goal. Prosecuting people is.

    • Zebra

      and Persecuting people too.

obama is a hood ornament for the nwo.

      • Iain

C’mon, gimme a break. Not JUST Obama. ALL of them! Sorry if that screws with your agenda. Actually, no I’m not.

  • GrandpaSpeaks

“Mr Drover, it appears you have had a little too much to think. Come with us, are you armed”? They tip their hand going after the first before they have the second secured. Orwellian thought crimes? No, low level terrorism. We are now criminals defined by a tactic. Because we think. I think this is out of the standing armies jurisdiction anyway.

  • OhYa

Here’s what I think of these new laws and acts:

    • OhYa

      [insert masturbatory gesture here]

Obama will call in UN troops after the rioting starts. He will declare martial law and suspend the constitution.

UN troops are NOT peacekeepers. They will try to confiscate all firearms and impose a total lockdown of our ability to travel freely.

You must continue to buy ammo and guns. Most online sites are now out of stock of ammo except for .22 short and .17 rimfire.
All the larger pistols are gone but you can still purchase small derringers on some sites.

The feds may shut down the factories and it’s looking like the end game now.

Good luck and make your plan.

  • dan

the ‘laws’ and bills that are being passed by our’congress’ all are being written by TPTB and funded by campaigne contributions to buy off the politicians…a bill is never clean they are all loaded with other things that do not see the light of day till it is to late…this administration as in the past are enablers of the elitist who despise freedom and liberty in a way that TPTB want total control of all people and assets…we as a nation did not at one time have a democracy we had a Republic…we do not today have a Republic…as this last election shows..once the majority votes to itself benefits provided by the government…a democracy is born…that is where we are at…as such the majority even if they vote to bring in laws that deprive me and the minority of are natural rights…I will never abide by those laws..NEVER….

I thought you all should know that the source for this article is a FOX News article from 2009 (,2933,526972,00.html) and that it was actually changed at one point:

Of course, for those who dismiss criticism of government violation of civil liberties as conspiracy theory, I would caution you to question your certitude that the government is genuinely representative of you and/or acting in your interest.

Also if you were an opponent of Bush during his terms as president, and now have restored your faith in America because Obama is president, I would urge you to look at Obama’s expansion and extension of the NDAA, his policy of drone strikes that are illegal under international law, his continued support of Israel, and his failure to halt the practice of “enhanced interrogation” abroad. I would urge you to look at what has really changed in the past 4 years, which is an increase in the share of wealth that the wealthiest possess, a decrease in quality of life for the poorest Americans, and a failure to prosecute anyone for the man-made financial crisis of 2008.

This government, in my opinion, is bought and paid for regardless of the party affiliation of the president. We have two major parties in America and they both respond first to corporate donors, and second to the American people. This has become increasingly frightening in the context of violations of civil liberties and the potential for the suppression of free speech.

It’s our duty as American citizens to defend these essential rights.

  • Slartybartfast

This article is BS. If you want to be taken seriously Mr Drover, do some research. It’s not new “news” (early 2009), nor is it accurate. The question above was pulled from the DoD manual almost immediately after pressure from a number of groups. See here –

where were these people when Ayers was bombing the Pentagon

  • Freedom to protest? In Amerika we don’t need to protest as long as we have our guns that is. The 2nd Amendment is the only one we know, recognize and value, all the others can go to hell and we couldn’t care less. Freedom to protest is one of those obscure freedoms we never use and we won’t miss when it’s gone. Besides, protesting is so…so…so last century and so low tech and primitive. Why protest and we have ipads, iphones, e-mail, e-phax, download, upload, Twitter, Reddit, Facebook, TV, apps, GPS, a camera in every corner, a cop for every other citizen. Seriously, who cares about protesting? Protesting is for the hippies.

  • Vil

The problem is that we slept too long and got here. Let Me give you a news flash, and it’s a shitty one. There isn’t a thing that we can do about this. The nails are in the lid of the coffin of our republic. It is over. They may as well put a crown on Obama or whoever replaces him.

Voting will change nothing. It is rigged. Protesting will change nothing. Even if they let you protest (which, clearly, we don’t in the new America), you can scream until the sky falls, and they’re still going to do what they want. That only leaves a violent revolution, and NO, I am NOT suggesting one.

Well, if nothing else will work, why am I *not* suggesting the final extreme? That’s simple. It won’t work. Even if our Second Amendment rights were not curbed, even if every household had a firearm, and even if a significant number of these were “assault rifles”, we the people are simply not able to take on predator drones, satellites, weapons of mass destruction, militarised police, our own military, and UN Peacekeepers. Even if it wasn’t true that more than half of the nation is too inept and self-absorbed to ever answer the call, the fact is that this would be a war that we wouldn’t be able to win.

Enjoy the false illusion of remaining freedoms for as long as our masters allow it. Once they tire of playing with us, the tyranny will be obvious to all, as will the truth of its inevitability and its unstoppable nature. Freedom is a lie.

    • Bill

Perhaps you are right…but I will guarantee you one thing: I will die free.

The Mujahideen were the “database” of Al-Qaeda assets. Al-Qaeda are a controlled opposition force of the Central Intelligence Agency to promote their middle east destabilization process. To give empirical U.S. Military Industrial Complex a reason to invade wherever they want in the ever widening “war on terror” fraud.

  • jerri

They must be “high level” terrorists since it seems king nothing is asking military officers if they would fire upon citizens! Seriously? Who does mr sealed past think he is (besides king)? I heard a huge storm is coming! Hope he’s prepared!

  • jerri

    Meaning, nobody is bowing down!

  • Vil

If you mean that the American people are going to put down their remote controls, pick up weapons, and demand that their civil liberties be returned, keep dreaming. It’s a nice thought, but Americans don’t have the spine for it. If they did, it honestly wouldn’t amount to crap. The public is unable to fight against satellites, militarised police, and predator drones. We’ve already lost.

  • timothy price

“…The public is unable to fight against satellites, militarised police, and predator drones.”

Too bad for US forces cause I guess that the Taliban didn’t know about this inability.

  • charger john

Military is spread all over the world. 98% will not participate in murdering civilians on US soil. They do have a few specialized units trained for deployment here and they will murder civilians. There numbers are limited and even a small percentage of the US population can out number them 10000 to 1. I think the crashing dollar will finally set off the unrest. They can slaughter many in the cities but they cannot win a sustained gurilla war fought by patriots. We know who they are now. We can find them and their families. The world is connected and their evil will end very soon. Americans will fight and we will exterminate every last oathbreaker and NWO dupe bottom to top. Many militia units are now training all across our country, They stand ready to spring into action to destabilize the criminals running the show. Prep and worry about your family. When the time comes you will know what to do. The good Lord is on our side and we will win. We are Americans and still hands down the best place to live on the planet! There is no place else to go, stand your ground!

  • Bill

For the last few decades, some of us have been warning about this horrific situation which is now unfolding before everyone’s eyes; even though we spoke from personal experience with tyrannical government agencies, no one believed us and we were labeled delusional conspiracy theorists. Fact is, no one in America has had any rights for a long, long time…it has all been a lie to keep the masses calm while our government did what they wanted to do to the individual. Overthrowing an entire nation takes time and commitment and organization…qualities the world bankers who will preside over the NWO are well adept at. No one wanted to believe I guess. Everyone thought those of us who suffered and then tried to warn folks were liars. Well, now the blind will see and the deaf will hear…it is so ironic that so many honest citizens are now finding themselves to be ‘criminals’ or ‘terrorists’ and confronted with the prospect of unjust imprisonment, torture, and death. It is scary finding out that your government is going to punish you for things you didn’t do isn’t it? Well, that’s exactly what is going to happen, to you and your families, if you don’t kneel and kiss their powdered asses. Talking tough won’t help, waiting for someone else to do something about it won’t help, snuggling up to your gun wont help, and you can complain all you want and it won’t help…the NWO has all its ducks in a row. America is defunct…in fact it never even existed. Rejoice the end is near.
