Federal Bill Would Make Owning Body Armor a Crime Punishable by 10 Years in Prison

Democratic members of Congress apparently aren’t going to be satisfied until American citizens are completely and utterly defenseless.

Representative Mike Honda (D-CA) has introduced a bill for consideration of the new Congress which would prohibit the ownership of certain types of body armor for civilians.

H.R. 378 would make it a crime to own Type III body armor which would be punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Yeah, 10 years in prison.

Of course, there are carve-outs in the bill for state/federal employees and agencies. The bill does also include a grandfather clause for people who currently own this type of armor.

Fortunately, with the GOP solidly in control of both houses of Congress this bill will likely never see the light of day. That said, it’s a great insight into how little some members of Congress care about the personal safety of their constituents.

The bill is co-sponsored by Representatives Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL), Robin L. Kelly (D-IL), and Danny K. Davis (D-IL).

The bill is currently sitting in the House Committee on the Judiciary.

Are you getting the picture of just who it is that the word terrorist is meant to describe?

    • In my opinion, any name after the words “The bill is co-sponsored by…” these days.

  • Tom

Clearly they want to make it as easy as possible to kill us. The next step after this is to require everyone to wear a remotely controlled cyanide injector so they can just push a button from the comfort of their surveillance console or police cruiser.

    • Nick

At this point I wouldn’t be shocked if some Dem’s came up with this legislation. Of course they will have exemptions for people they like.

    • Logans Run, anyone?

      • Tom

Marcus, you must be film buff like myself to remember this 1976 dystopian sci-fi classic. BTW, have you noticed that the actress who plays the girlfriend in Logan’s Run, Jenny Agutter, also played the lead role in the Australian cult-classic Walkabout?

I guess you hadn’t heard of vaccinations?

It’s a long list of methods, from slow kill to fast kill. On the slow kill, they can make lots of money off your death in the medical-industrial complex first. Fast kill is for fence-jumping tax cows they want to make an example out of right now.

        • disqus_3BrONUAJno

That is why I advocate the priority of detecting, impeaching, indicting, prosecuting, convicting, and executing traitors. We must start getting them before they get us.

    • Rivenburg

That would come as an accessory to your smart meter.

  • Feds and their “civil” war. Just SUBMIT, OBEY, COMPLY, PAY TAXES

only registered slaves voted these morons in

What did the unregistered slaves do at the polling stations?

      • they passed by and remained foreign to the corporation and it’s pukes

  • Nick

Yeah that’s it. It has nothing to do with a leftist campaign that has been carried on for decades to disarm and subjugate the American people. It’s just about body armor sales.

    • Daddyotis

      Nailed it, Nick.

Kaz: WTF?? Political marketing by body armor companies? You mean those massively rich & powerful multinational corporations of SafeGuard & Kejo?? Good Lord Man. Let’s keep our eye on the ball here and fight the good fight……not get drawn into conspiracies which simply don’t exist.

Looks like the bastards have figured out that their little party is only going to last so long before we come drag them out to stand public trials (if they are lucky. Mob mentality may not let them make it that long.). I would like to see the reasoning they have for this. It is not as if body armor is dangerous. It is nice to see them start to squirm. Obama passes all of those unconstitutional executive orders as if by him stating they are legal they are. I guess he forgot about all of those pesky international laws against human rights. Yes, make them squirm folks, you can see the desperation dripping from their weasily little heads.

    • Pretty much. have you read the recent articles on the super-rich in Davos buying high end bugout locations because the KNOW people are fed up and exactly whom we are coming for when the torches and pitchforks come out

      • mirageseekr

I did. I am hoping that once the US erupts the world will follow as they heavily depend on our economy. We can then count on our fellow citizens of the world to go after them. Nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. Worthless garbage like this do not know how to be self sufficient which makes them very vulnerable indeed.

      • disqus_3BrONUAJno

What we need to be practising is welding, to seal them in their high end bugouts.

      • Rivenburg

Strange little men & women in strange little corners of the world are doing nothing but keep track of whos who, where you “served”, what unit, what things you voted for in congress. who sold what guillotine to what unit. NOT NSA. Citizens. Who are now realizing they need paper as well as hard drives. This will be like NAZI hunters on steroids. In the end there will a frenzy much like the French revolution, but it wont be just in the USA, it will be world-wide. Our leadership is making Americans in general HATED in much of the world. We have become the soviets, the third evil empire. Our family members in uniform, need to GTFO before the entire world turns on them.
REAL patriots, of which I KNOW even the Feds are still full of, need to make a coup, or join us in the hills. At bundy ranch the different kinds of people who showed up were from EVERY corner of American life including pink wearing gays with AR-15s, I was SERIOUSLY impressed with the cultural spread reported there. Made me proud. When Americans in general rise up, WATCH THE F OUT.

Every local, state, and federal government needs to be hung for treachery.

    • disqus_3BrONUAJno

How does one hang a government? If our military would stop selling us out, they could be stopping our domestic enemies.

      • Mike

ok so I left out the word official after government. oops.

  • plate metal stuffed in a reinforced vest, how hard is that to make yourself?

Just another reason to practise your head shots.

      • Tom

In a video of the Ukraine fighting this morning I was reminded once again of how many places there are outside of a person’s “vital organ” area that put you on the ground, right now. Even in the classic example of actual body armor use in the commission of a crime in the US, the Los Angeles bank robbery duo had full body armor including pants. How much good did it do them? They both died in the shootout. http://youtu.be/tsOWSDtxERU

IMHO the cops handled the above incident like idiots, precipitating a major firefight when they should have withdrawn to outside of practical range of the robbers, maintained surveillance of them, and simply waited for the snipers to get there. They could have finished the incident with two shots instead of thousands.

        • Rivenburg

North Hollywood shoot-out was a serious mistake for people to see. The cops were boobs, panicked boobs.
One guy shooting under a car into the feet would have put them down. or one head shot.
We ALL watched in disbelief at body shot after body shot to the armor, showing the cops flat out could not learn during the fight. Were incapable of breaking their training to simply hit a different spot. They appeared aware their shots were having NO effect, but could NOT over-come their panic in order to make an effective shot that would not have cost them any more time in the open then the hundreds of useless body shots.

          • disqus_3BrONUAJno

I know only what has been mentioned here, but regardless of the venue, an armed society would have stopped them before the police dispatcher answered the call.

        • disqus_3BrONUAJno

They probably wanted to enjoy the blood lust that snipers savor. The more that comes out about Chris Kyle, the less a rational person wants to deify him.

      • sweet!

    • tayronachan

      lol!

  • ron17571

    WTF?

  • the “body armor companies” sell their product on federal or state contract. This neither helps not hurts them.

Dang citizens won’t stay dead!! There ought to be a law!!

  • James Michael

    No authority…..PERIOD!
There is no relevant definition in the OED, so we goto the Websters 1828 dictionary online for free.
    ARMS, noun plural [Latin arma.]

    1. Weapons of offense, or armor for defense and protection of the body.

    2. War; hostility.

Arms and the man I sing.

To be in arms to be in a state of hostility, or in a military life.

To arms is a phrase which denotes a taking arms for war or hostility; particularly, a summoning to war.

To take arms is to arm for attack or defense.

Bred to arms denotes that a person has been educated to the profession of a soldier.

    3. The ensigns armorial of a family; consisting of figures and colors
borne in shields, banners, etc., as marks of dignity and distinction,
and descending from father to son.

    4. In law, arms are any thing which a man takes in his hand in anger, to strike or assault another.

Only the first 4 were relevant so the rest were left off.
Armor is included without restriction in the definition of THEIR sworn oaths.
That makes even proposing that bill treason….
and Rep Honda a traitor and domestic enemy of America.

So… you’re suggesting that R’s are any better?

At this late day, it is weird to see people writing in the old D’s vs. R’s worldview. Most people have figured out the entire Congress are rotten whores.

Where as the right leadership is supine being 100% bought off. Except those stalwarts mcstain & gramsey, They find new ways to actively embarrass the right daily. Those arms salesmen never met a war they didn’t LOVE.
FDR let commies into our government on the left 80 years ago and they never left (NLRB anyone?), in response, we citizens allowed the right to become fascist, to initiate permanent war for permanent profits. Now, the left has embraced permanent war and Fascism and the right has bought into Socialism, big brother and multi-culti dilution of our culture.
Both sides NOW agree we the people should be property and slaves, the Ubers will simply kill each other later to see who holds the reins.

  • llewellynh

Boy is that unfair. I live in a wetlands area that has legal hunting seasons andI I am deaf. I try to pick up trash in the wetlands because too often wild birds eat plastic and die literally as a result. I have thought about wearing a vest only because the hunters in this area that really is too small to accommodate them often get way too close to the few houses and one road out here. Seems to me we should be permitted to protect ourselves. It’s an area closed off but used by county employees and obviously no one is going to break up their hobby.

  • eldoradocreekskipper

This is a perfect example of the contempt with which a group of arrogant communist traitors hold both the American People and The Constitution of the United States of America.
