Empire State Building Shooting Wrongly Hyped as ‘Mass Shooting’ by Media?

In yet another ‘summer shooting’ involving a killer who is now being referred to by the media as the ‘Empire State Building shooter’, recently-fired gunman Jeffrey Johnson fired on a co-worker before being gunned down by police outside of the Empire State Building in downtown New York City. A total of 9 bystanders were wounded and sent to a local hospital with expectations of survival, but what was the cause of their injury? The Empire State Building shooter may have actually had only a single target (according to virtually all the mainstream media sources linked throughout) — a co-worker who was gunned down before the incident leading to the 9 injuries. This makes the Empire State Building shooter case quite different than the Batman shootings and the Sikh shootings, but it doesn’t appear that way in major media. The bulk of the wounded suspects seem to have resulted from a chaotic incident of police fire intended for Johnson, with potentially all of the injuries reportedly as a result of the police fire. Even Bloomberg admits that Johnson may have not shot any of the bystanders himself:
Major organizations like Reuters are already labeling it a mass shooting comparable to the Batman shooting and the Sikh temple killings, stating:
Does this make it okay? Certainly not. This is an absolutely tragic event, and Johnson most certainly displayed a mentally unstable and nefarious intent to kill another human being and return fire to police. The key aspect we are examining here is how the media is looking to turn this case into another mass shooting event without actually detailing the facts in the ‘readable’ area of the article. Instead, they stick these key facts far down below the opening paragraph and summary. What this does is cause hysteria and label it another mass shooting to those who read headlines or the first paragraph summary. Why is this important? Because Johnson is stated to have used a semi-automatic handgun, which has led anti-gun proponents to immediately begin calling for stricter gun control and regulation. Considering it’s already illegal to be carrying a semi-automatic weapon in downtown New York City, it’s quite obvious that Johnson really isn’t a law-abiding citizen (these stricter regulations would only affect law-abiding citizens). This latest ‘mass shooting’ as perpetuated by the mainstream media may be the final straw in terms of gun control and regulation, and we may see many individuals like New York’s Mayor Bloomberg go into overdrive in using this incident as a catalyst to push along the legislation. I would urge you to remember that the main point of this piece is to highlight that the mainstream media will take anything and spin it to not only generate the most response, but to further an agenda. The cops may have been responsible for all 9 of the wounded! Sure and they won’t be held accountable for this either as they are protected by law from being prosecuted etc. for wounding bystanders. Had you shot even one bystander as you took out the bad guy with your concealed carry gun you would be going to jail, your life would be over. Seems the cops should be held to a higher standard. This is not the first time I have seen a story where the cops have fired a large volume of lead and hit nothing or in this case plenty they shouldn’t have. This is the result of the NYC/Bloomberg hatred of all things “Gun”. They have failed to give these guys enough trigger time to be good and they tote around Glocks with the NYC mandated 12lbs trigger pull! In a few dozen rounds I had my 18 y.o. daughter shooting fist size groups at 7-10 meters. Certainly they could have done a little better than this. There was a mass shooting in NYC yesterday only problem was it was the cops who committed it.
After what is being reveled, headline should read:
“NYPD OPERATION BLUE THUNDER ACHIEVES CIVILIAN TARGET GOALS”
This would be joke if it weren’t for the people being injured/killed. Now we know what uniform the REAL “Terrorists” wear these days.
the only thing gun control does is increase crime by alot and the goverment WILL start taking other rights away at a faster pace since the people cannot protect themselves from the goverment,LETS NOT FORGET THAT THE SECOND AMMENDMENT IS PROTECTION FROM THE GOVERMENT AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HUNTING AND TARGET PRACTICE
Never forget that “gun control” isn’t about guns at all. It is about CONTROL and those who want the absolute in it. Prison is an extremely controlled environment yet it is also one of the most dangerous places a person can be. So much for increasing government control making us safer.
Can’t you just see some political class idiots sitting around, dreaming of a future wherein they can stop worrying about those pesky elections… AFTER they have disarmed the general public, of course? I am convinced that if this has happened, Mayor Bloomberg was right in their pitching his spiel for why and how it should be done.
In the US Constitution, as well as a half dozen or so other founding documents, it is clearly stated that it is both the right and the duty of all Americans to support and defend the US Constitution from ALL enemies, foreign AND domestic. OK, we all pretty much know who the foreign enemies are but just who are these “domestic” enemies? Could they be a government gone rogue, turning into a vicious police state where the US Constitution and personal liberty have been trampled into the dirt? Yes, they could. But without the tools of liberty, which is to say GUNS, we could not re-establish a free country from these totalitarian wanna-bees… and don’t think for one second that they are unaware of this!
(o_0) Some people are gonna hate me for saying this, but I’m gonna say it anyways…(O_O) At least this angry gunman went after the very person who p*ssed him off in the 1st place & didn’t get confused & start killing people who had absolutely nothing to do with the real reason he was made for in the 1st place! People who kill innocent people not linked to the original reason they’re mad for in the 1st place, are the very same children we all watched break THEIR OWN toys & punch holes in THEIR bedroom walls when someone wronged them! It’s misdirected anger is what it is. I think America should get use to this trend because the worse off the economy gets & the less accountability corrupt authoritarians are willing to take, the more confused angry Americans will become & more & more will just flip out & start killing people that had nothing to do with the real reason they’re made at. In most cases these angry people have no clue who to blame because the real culprits who’ve wronged them have been shielded in an elaborate scheme to disguise the real truth from them so that they could make a clean getaway, as is in the case of people who’ve lost their homes to bank foreclosure. It’s just one HUGE blame game, which doesn’t excuse the fact that these people lost their jobs, retirements, life savings, homes, vehicles, kids, pets…etc etc etc. (O_o) I wonder if these angry people still would have done what they did if they knew that they could have called their local psychiatric unit & asked to talk to someone & reached out for help? I know reading all the conspiracy theories floating around out there can make an already unstable person even less stable. Sometimes just talking to someone about what is upsetting you can really help & we as a people should make it a point to reason with them if we run into a person like this. I hate to say it, but even report them if you really believe that they’re an immanent lethal threat to themselves or others. No one has the right to just take another person’s life in cold blood…no one! Just because that man’s liberties were trampled on, doesn’t mean he had the right to permanently take away those same rights from others. That’s what we have courts for. If it can’t be justly settled in a court, then we’ll start seeing allot of this happening all over America from now on until the laws are change to properly protect the innocent & give them true justice. Putting killing another person aside, what this man did is a just symptom of the broke American Justice System that protects the rich & influential, while victimizing the ignorant, poor & weak.
