Detroit Water Shutoffs Will Ultimately Cause Disease Outbreaks

Detroit has once again started to cut of the water supplies of those people who fail to pay their utility bills.

Whilst I no way endorse that certain people should be ‘let off’ with paying their utility bills, it’s a known medical fact that those without a clean water supply are more susceptible to disease and that contagious diseases spread far faster without decent sanitation.

You only have to look at countries where there is no clean water supply to see what I mean. Typhoid, cholera, typhus and a myriad of other diseases are rampant in these areas.

Illnesses that we are far more familiar with in the West, such as enteroviruses, norovirus etc spread with alarming ease when access to clean water is denied. Most gastrointestinal upsets are spread by poor hand hygiene and having a major metropolitan area where so many people do not have the ability to wash their hands regularly is asking for trouble.

There will, by necessity be an increase in those people dumping raw sewage, and you can bet your life that not everyone will do so responsibly. Rats and vermin will increase, as will diseases such as leptospirosis which is usually associated with fresh water but is carried by  a sizeable proportion of the rodent population. Rodents are incontinent and the spirochetes that cause leptospirosis are excreted in their urine.

I have no idea what the answer is, but an answer does need to be found before Detroit becomes the epicentre for  outbreaks of disease that could easily disseminate across the United States.

    It is pretty clear they mean to make people leave Detroit and then most likely clean it up and gentrify it, or they just want it to be a giant slum with third world conditions which is almost accomplished now.
    My question is can people get together and share a source of water, pay one bill and all the people nearby share the water and the bill? Or is there a way to make just one tap work where it can be reached?
    Another idea I guess is turn it back on, if they can turn it off, you can turn it on. But of course the money junkies will fight you if you do.
    If things keep us as they are it appears the only thing the corrupt psychopaths will understand is for the people to run them out with the back of their pants taking some well deserved buckshot or something higher caliber .

Does anyone here see the SHAME in this? The people of Detroit have written a letter of appeal to the United Nations to get involved calling this a humanitarian crisis. No hygiene, No baby formula, No juices or koolaid for children in the Hot temperatures,, the elderly must do without? WTF?? This is WRONG! No matter who what when or where this is. It is a CRIME being committed by the politicians. WHAT A SHAME.

      Well I wish them luck. We have been told to stop the torture of our citizens in prison who are sometimes put in isolation for years or decades,due to mental health issues that are left untreated.

    So we’ve got plague in Colorado, Ebola’s been imported to Atlanta and to a major city near you (wherever you are), and now it looks like we’ll be evolving our own cholera and typhus epidemic in Detroit any time now.

    I believe when one has three diseases in one’s country, then that qualifies one for third world status….. :-/

    While the outrage may seem justified, if you READ the responses from the utilities, the vast majority of people were delinquent to the tune of less than $500.00 or so. These same families have cable, cell phone plans, cars they fill with gasoline, etc. etc. But they believe they are ENTITLED to unlimited free resources from the public so they don’t pay and then cry foul and discrimination when there are consequences.

    Also a fact is that when the rubber hit the road, the VAST majority of these households hotfooted it down to the utilities and paid their bills or made payment arrangements.

    This is all a big propaganda campaign.

    We can debate the Right or Wrong of the Govt. or the people all day long, but this exposes a greater truth. When you allow the govt. to be a part of your every “Need” they assume control of your very being. Here’s an example; The Mooshelle and her school lunch BS. Now all they have to do is readjust the nutrition requirements incrementally, to malnurish a whole generation. We need to eliminate this socialist scourge very soon……
