Claims That “Thousands Will Die” If Obamacare MANDATE Goes Away Is Nothing But A Democrat LIE And Here’s Why

Top Tier Gear USA

Now that we’re on the cusp of getting rid of one of the most constitutionally offensive laws — the mandate that all Americans be forced to purchase a product, in this case, health insurance, or be punished — Democrats have gone into full panic mode and have cranked up their propaganda machine.

A provision within the Republican tax reform bill that is on pace for passage this week would eliminate Obamacare’s “individual mandate,” which is a great thing for liberty, freedom, and choice.

But Democrats, many of whom passed the Obamacare monstrosity that has destroyed the private health insurance market, forcing millions of Americans to pay thousands a year in out-of-pocket healthcare expenses, are now claiming that scores will die — die! — if the mandate goes away.

Health insurance, they claim, is a requirement to sustain life. And by their logic, the more expensive it is, the longer we’ll all live.

That’s like saying the requirement that physicians and other primary care providers must be licensed before they can practice eliminates malpractice, which of course, isn’t true.

The fact is, getting rid of the individual mandate will be a major economic boon to millions of American households, not a risk to their lives. Indeed, because deductibles and other out-of-pocket expenses have skyrocketed due to Obamacare’s minimum coverage requirements, scores of Americans have had to forego medical treatment altogether because they can’t afford the up-front expense.

So in other words, keeping the mandate is likely more deadly than getting rid of it.

The nitwits on the Left claim three things that are absolutely false when it comes to health insurance coverage and healthThe Daily Signal’s Robert Moffit, senior fellow for Health Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation, writes:

— Coverage reduces mortality

— The individual mandate expands insurance coverage

— The mandate, therefore, reduces mortality so, conversely, getting rid of it will increasemortality.

You know, like forks and spoons cause obesity.

Have you ever heard of anything so stupid?

The fact is, as Moffit and others with more than a double-digit IQ understand, the one thing that reduces mortality is actual health care, be it traditional, naturopathic or homeopathic.

If you can’t afford it because you’re shelling out an extra car or house payment every month due to high rates caused by government mandatesyou don’t get care.

So you’re not as healthy and, thus, more at risk for a negative health outcome.

But even more than that, the entire premise of Obamacare was a sham from the get-go. Do you remember being told all of the ‘wonderful things’ the law would accomplish? (Related: GruberGate compilation video goes viral: Devious Obamacare lies from MIT economist unraveled in just two minutes.)

— Under Obamacare, every American would be covered. That never happened. In fact, according to a New York Times estimate, 29 million Americans remained uninsuredduring the 2016 tax filing year. 29 million.

— Obama and Democrats repeatedly told Americans their law would reduce premiums, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expensesLie. In fact, Obamacare caused dramatic increases in monthly premiums and deductibles, with many Americans paying more, more, more for mandated coverage.

Indeed, without substantial changes in the ‘Affordable’ Care Act, premiums are set to jump another 50 percent or more in some markets next year. (Meanwhile, those jack legs in Congress exempted themselves and continue to receive taxpayer-subsidized coverage!)

— The “you can keep your doctor” lie revolved around Obama’s promise that nothing in the massive Obamacare legislation would cause anyone to have to change primary care providers. Lie. He made the same promise about health care plans — if we liked what we had already, we could keep it.

The latter lie was more significant (and even made Politifact’s “Lie of the Year”) because Obama and Democrats knew their legislation mandated that insurers provide and consumers buy minimum packages of benefits that required, for instance, men to carry maternity coverage.

Fact is, the entire effort to craft and pass Obamacare was built on one big fat lie after another. And now Democrats are lying again in their pathetic attempt to save one of the worst public healthcare policy disasters ever.

The ACA was a scam from the git go. It is neither affordable or caring.
But it should be noted that it was a Heritage Foundation monster. You could have easily called it Romney care instead of Obama care.

The whole thing was a big boon to the insurance companies.

  • Praetor

    Excellent and correct.!!!

  • Steve Klopfen

IF ACA was written correctly and it was free enterprise based. It could stand on its own using free market competition all without requiring millions to be obligated to purchasing something they do not need or want.

Remember this is all due to the Liberals and their regulation war on the medical field, which they clearly started back in the later 1990’s.

Just look at the results of what their Mandatory ER Care law has done to ER’s and Trauma centers across the nation. They are now packed with those seeking to avoid paying for a doctors office visits for simple colds, aches and cut fingers. An yes a large number of illegals milking the system. The costs then got passed down to us and insurance companies.

The regulation war started a hundred years before that.

Insurance companies will save the world because they are the nicest, most generous people, ever.
Remember, corporations have people status, so there. If corporations are people, dislike of insurance companies falls under “hate crimes”, on accounta they’re people-n-all, so I guess “Vampires Matter” will be the mantra through 2018?

    • Those are the illogical paths that will be followed in the future so who knows at what dark place it’ll all end up at.

    Got problems?

Bush family would bomb Iraq, then Yemen, then Libya, then laugh all the way to the bank with the czionists and their sick ilk ..

    Why would the Obamas care?

  • karolekay

“If you can’t afford it because you’re shelling out an extra car or house payment every month due to high rates caused by government mandates, you don’t get care.” That makes no sense in this article. They can’t get medical care because, after shelling out payments on high premiums for high-deductible, high-copay insurance policies, they have no money left for actual healthcare. Or spending money that would be spent for healthcare on paying penalties for not being able to afford health insurance at all. Makes perfect sense if your a liberal.

    • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

That quote from the article said exactly what you said.

If you can’t afford care after shelling out an extra car or house payment (in the form of high-premium, high-deductible, high-copay insurance), you don’t get care.

      • karolekay

Healthcare premiums do not cause an extra car payment or house payment. The quote was about extra car payments and house payments caused by government regulations pertaining to those. That is an issue separate from the healthcare issue. Car/house payments are not “in the form” of healthcare payments. They are car and house payments.

        • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

Really? So, if I pay $900/mo house payment. . . and a $900/mo health insurance premium. . . that’s not an extra house payment every month?

          Let’s see. . . $900. . . check. . . another $900. . . check. . . $900 and $900 are. . . exactly the same! Who’d’a ever thunk it?

Maybe you should take a remedial math course?

          • karolekay

Maybe you should learn to be nice to people.

          • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

I am nice. . . just not to idiots.

          • karolekay

Just because it wasn’t worded clearly, just because I did not understand what they were trying to say does not make me an idiot. You’re continued insults, however, does still make you rude.

          • ReverendDraco✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵃᶜᶜᵒᵘᶰᵗ

It was perfectly clear. . .

Maybe a remedial reading course is also in your future. . .

          • karolekay

Such humility on your part. I’m sure you’re the darling of all who know you.

The demonscrats killed our former system and killed us with expensive healthcare that allows the lazy, the illegals and so-called reugees they want to replace American citizens with to get everything including healthcare free while our veterans get shoddy or no care, the elderly American citizens and truly disabled get nothing. It is a disgrace.
