I drove to Canada from Denver in 1973, and was harrassed at the border the same way, and even strip-searched because we had our hair too long! The Canadian border guards are no different and have been doing this to Americans for a long time! F88k them!
At least the customs don’t molest people like your TSA does… guess that is acceptable though because it is a Domestic agency..
I personnally am Canadian and find that the attitude of the guy who recorded this deserved that kind of treatment. First you are not home, show some respect. Second the border agents see hundreds of faces every day and may not be in no mood for plays. they also have a right to lesser days like everyone else. Is it so much to ask to answer a few questions directly without blustering?
And as I recall, I personnally always had more trouble with Canadian customs while returning home than when entering the Unites States.
I don’t see the point in publishing this audio, really. Find us one that shows abuse on citizens on the grounds of the Patriot Act or the likes instead.
Right on the money. I always found the US border agents to be direct but respectful. Absolutely no issues.. coming back on the other hand was always an adventure. Seemed they didn’t like us coming back to Canada.
You know, If he wasn’t so sarcastic and acting like a total jack-ass that never would have happened. He would have been on his way w/o a problem. He was being a jerk. The border guards were trying their best and were being professional.
Someone crosses over a border crossing you literally don’t know it is. All of that could have benn easily avoided if he didn’t act like dope.
Yes, let’s justify the gestapo actions at the border. Do you really think a terrorist isn’t going to lie about where he is going? This is sheer stupidity. The Canadian may have had an attitude but the dumb ass border cop took it too far. What stores are you going to? if that isn’t a stupid ass question. Next time anyone asks just say you’re going to the piggly wiggly as a standard answer anytime so these guys can feel they made you comply with their interrogation. Bunch of freaking losers.

I am a Canadian. I apologize for the attitude that this loser displayed. Had he simply answered the questions as honestly and as detailed as he could have, he’d have been shopping for the day. Instead he got locked up for being a douche bag. Did he deserve that? YES! Currently we are fighting along side one another in Afghanistan. Why? Because we are friends. Unfortunately people like this hurt the relationship of trust and respect that two allies ought to enjoy.

I encourage everybody to file a complaint every time this happens. This is so unamerican.
