As Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy Scot Peterson was responding to the Parkland shooting, he radioed that he was hearing gunfire inside the school, the Miami Herald reports.

The radio dispatches appear to contradict his claim after the incident that he thought that the gunshots were outside the buildings.

Peterson “immediately fixated on Building 12 and even radioed that gunfire was happening ‘inside,’” according to the Miami Herald(RELATED: Listen To The Horrifying 911 Calls Made During The Parkland School Shooting)

In a bizarre move, Peterson told other officers to stay away from the building.

This is just the latest in a shocking series of revelations about law enforcement mistakes during the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Fox News’ Laura Ingraham reported in late February that officers were told not to go into the school during the shooting because they weren’t allowed to enter without body cameras, which they did not have. (RELATED: Report: Deputies Were TOLD Not To Go Into High School)

Seventeen people died in the shooting on Valentine’s Day last month. Gunman Nikolas Cruz has been arrested and charged.
