Brace Yourselves: Obamacare Enrollment Numbers Released

train wreck

Oh, boy.

The government released Obamacare enrollment numbers today, and they are not pretty.

Brace yourself.

*Deep breath*

Here are the stats:

The Department of Health and Human Services released data showing that fewer than 27,000 signed up for an Affordable Care Act plan through the federal website Healthcare.gov between Oct. 1 and Nov. 2. Including those who signed up through state-based exchanges, just over 100,000 Americans have picked health plans through the program.  (source)

Abysmal.

Enrollment in private plans amounts to 1.5 percent of a forecast 7 million people who were expected to sign up by the time enrollment wraps up in the end of March. Nearly 1 million people have successfully checked whether they are eligible for government subsidies toward the new insurance, but have not selected a plan, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. (source)

Not promising, is it?

Some 26,794 people signed up for private health insurance plans through the technologically-challenged federal marketplace and 79,391 who signed up through state-based exchanges.

396,261 people were deemed eligible for the government’s Medicaid program or the Children’s Health Insurance Program for the poor. (source)

Uh oh (But wait -wasn’t that the ultimate goal, anyway?)

Twitterers are a-Tweetin’ about the low numbers:

White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters shortly before the release of the data that “no one will be satisfied with the numbers because they will be below what we sought.”

Below what they sought? The number of October enrollments the administration expected was 500,000.

The administration blames low enrollment numbers on the infamous website glitches, of course.

Perhaps there are other reasons the numbers are so low:

Here’s what Republican National Committee head Reince Priebus said in a statement:

“While the Obama White House is sure to blame the poor enrollment numbers on the many unacceptable tech glitches that have frustrated Americans, I maintain that the larger reason ObamaCare has failed is because it was conceived based on a lie that Americans could keep their healthcare plans and has failed to address our number one healthcare problem in America: soaring costs. Reasons one million and one million and one why the federal government should not be running our healthcare.”

Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich, said:

“Even if this data was an accurate picture, the Administration would need to enroll 68,000 people per day to meet their year-end goal,” he said. “However, [HealthCare.gov] isn’t even designed to handle that much traffic and is currently capable of only handling less than half that much.”

Meanwhile, Obama is holding fast to his claim that the website will be fixed by the end of November.

Sure it will.

Sounds like a little bit of civil disobedience to me,plus goes to show the government that most folks don’t really like being screwed over by the government. This has been an accident waiting to happen for years now,but Boobama is too arrogant to let his pet project that carries his name be put down and buried. As for a lot of the liberals that were around and crammed this down our throats, are now wringing their hands and saying oh my what have we done to our political careers, now they are jumping ship hoping that they can regain some of their lost integrity ,but too late for that, they have already dug the hole, now we will have to see if some of the savants that vote them in office every election, will finally turn against them,I really doubt it though, because “stupid is as stupid does”.Be prepared and ready.Keep your powder dry.

Remember the IRS can only collect the fine if you have a refund coming. Arrange it so you don’t get one by paying in less on your W-2. Why should they have your money all year for free anyway? Get it now fools.
Still doesn’t help you if you are not covered by put some of it aside for emergencies and learn safer alternative ways to be well. Get accident insurance for if you get hurt.

I know you mean well, but the real solution here is to not fill out a W-2 at all, or to fill out ANY withholding paperwork. Nobody is required to do so under any law or regulation. If you have a W-2 on file with your payroll department, go to them and make them shred it right in front of you, along with any other withholding paperwork signed by you. You’re right about getting it now, but get it ALL now. Then you don’t need to worry about ANY refund.

Besides, is nobody able to figure out that the IRS has ZERO authority to enforce anything in the Internal Revenue Code, since it is NOT part of the federal “government?” And what, pray tell, does proof or non-proof of medical insurance have to do with income taxes, or tax refunds? I think I can help here. That would be . . . wait for it . . . absolutely NOTHING!

Well im doing my part. Today My wifes car needs a water Pump. The cheapest in town was Orileys.$65.95 plus tax. I ordered one on line from parts geek total price $39 including shipping and no sales tax. and its the very same brand pump. Saved $25.95 plus over $6 in taxes. Ill have to wait a few days for the part to arrive. that’s ok im saving money. But the best part is the government parasites & local Gobs don’t get any sales tax! hooray

This is hilarious. The latest news about being able to keep your policy is nothing more than a sucker’s ploy. There is no way to know under what circumstances and coverage limits you’ll be able to keep it, but note above everything else that it’s only good for a year, unless they find more “problems” with the “law.”

Translation: all you suckers who will vote for us in the 2014 elections, because of the favor we’re doing you, will be bent over and f**ked but good afterwards. Oh, and later, I’ll say that I didn’t know that would happen, either. Have a nice day — FOOLS!

I also love the fact that the White House spokesliar has the last name Carney. Quite fitting.
