Code Suggests Israel May Be To Blame for Iranian Nuclear Plant Cyber Attack

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

Deep inside the computer worm that some specialists suspect is aimed at slowing Iran’s race for a nuclear weapon lies what could be a fleeting reference to the Book of Esther, the Old Testament tale in which the Jews pre-empt a Persian plot to destroy them.

That use of the word “Myrtus” — which can be read as an allusion to Esther — to name a file inside the code is one of several murky clues that have emerged as computer experts try to trace the origin and purpose of the rogue Stuxnet program, which seeks out a specific kind of command module for industrial equipment.

Not surprisingly, the Israelis are not saying whether Stuxnet has any connection to the secretive cyberwar unit it has built inside Israel’s intelligence service. Nor is the Obama administration, which while talking about cyberdefenses has also rapidly ramped up a broad covert program, inherited from the Bush administration, to undermine Iran’s nuclear program. In interviews in several countries, experts in both cyberwar and nuclear enrichment technology say the Stuxnet mystery may never be solved.

There are many competing explanations for myrtus, which could simply signify myrtle, a plant important to many cultures in the region. But some security experts see the reference as a signature allusion to Esther, a clear warning in a mounting technological and psychological battle as Israel and its allies try to breach Tehran’s most heavily guarded project. Others doubt the Israelis were involved and say the word could have been inserted as deliberate misinformation, to implicate Israel.

Russian Suitcase Nukes Hidden on U.S. Soil

Monday, September 27th, 2010

Soviet operations during the height of the cold war took many forms, from infiltration of our education system to intervention in public policies and government. The Soviets had agents working in pretty much every nook and cranny of the United States engaging in all sorts of operations designed to destabilize the United States in one way or another.

The recent arrest of a Russian spy ring operating in the United States suggest that the Soviet goal of bringing American capitalism to its knees remains the ultimate goal. Though the “spies” weren’t involved in the transfer of military secrets or preparing contingency plans in the event the U.S. and Russia go to war, the fact that they had close relationships to US government officials, lobbyists and corporate leaders indicates that Russian operatives continue to work towards the goals set forth during the cold war.

In a recent article, J.R. Nyquist suggests an alternate and plausible theory about the events of September 11th, 2001 in which he says that Al Queda’s number two man, Ayman al-Zawahri, was at one-time a KGB, and now Russian, agent operating under the instruction of the Kremlin. One of the key sources of this information? None other than Alexander Litvinenko, the former KGB agent who was poisoned by plutonium in London in 2007.

The purpose of Russia’s indirect involvement was to destabilize the U.S. economy and create unrest within the country as a whole. Though the idea sounds far-fetched, who could argue that this is exactly the result of September 11?

Russia maintains a strategic interest in seeing the United States’ economy, society and capitalistic system collapse. And if the plans of those who mean to do the United States harm come to fruition, and the U.S. eventually enters a global war for economic and/or political reasons, it is believed that the Russians, going back to the KGB during the cold war, have already taken steps to engage the U.S. militarily.

A September 9, 2010 report from Georgia’s Savannah Morning News reports that three men of Russian origin were arrested near a Georgia Power’s natural gas-based electrical power production plant. What was odd about the arrest is that it occurred on a road pretty much in the middle of nowhere at 1 a.m., in direct proximity to the plant. The Russians, whose U.S. visas expire soon, were arrested with a machete, shovel, wire cutters and ski masks.

According to JR Nyquist, this suggest foul play, and potentially, intelligence operations reminiscent of old Soviet special operations:

The job of Soviet spetsnaz (special forces), who train in the United States under the guise of “tourists,” is to infiltrate the U.S. prior to a nuclear war and take out key targets. These would include power plants, city water supplies, government leaders, etc. They are also tasked with burying nuclear weapons on American soil in advance of a war. If you look at Old Augusta Road on a map, it is located about two miles east of the McIntosh Combined Cycle Plant in a rural wooded area. So let us imagine this situation: three young male tourists from the “former” Soviet Union, of military age, driving a Nissan Pathfinder at 1 a.m. on a Sunday morning with ski masks and black silk stockings, a shovel, wire cutters and a machete. Their destination is not a nightclub or bar. They are driving to “the end of the road.” From their tools one may expect they will be cutting their way through brush, digging a hole, and cutting wires. One more thing: Old Augusta Road has power lines running along its length. In the following passage, read what GRU Col. Stanislav Lunev says about Russian nuclear devices maintained on U.S. soil:

Setting up one of these devices is complicated. The bombs need a small amount of power to keep them safely in storage. For example, the GRU specialist might have to run a very small wire to an electrical source, such as a power wire, and then attach it to the weapon. The wires can be run as far as one hundred yards or more from the weapon. The wires are small enough that they would easily break if someone tampered with them or tried to follow them to their source. In case there is a loss of power, there is a battery. (Through the Eyes of the Enemy, p. 26)

According to Lunev, GRU operatives have been sent to find hiding places for Russian nuclear weapons on American soil. One of these weapons, the RA-115 portable nuclear weapon, is intended for use against American leaders and other targets of strategic importance at the outset of a war. As Lunev explained, “it is surprisingly easy to smuggle nuclear weapons into the U.S., either across the Mexican border or using a small transport missile that can slip by undetected when launched from a Russian airplane.”

source: ‘Those Who Know Will  Understand

According to reports, the Russians were detained and subsequently released. Like the 9/11 terrorists, these individuals possessed Visas and were legally in the United States. And while we can only speculate about what they were doing near a major power plant in the middle of the night, the fact that this was not generally reported in the national media or further investigated by local or federal law enforcement is most interesting and alarming.

TSA Implements 72-Hour Waiting Period for Travel

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Check It News reports that the TSA has implemented the Secure Flight Program, a “behind the scenes program” designed to increase airline security. The program will be phased in with each airline, so it will not immediately take effect across the entire country. American Airlines is one of the first to adopt the program, with all passengers purchasing tickets on or after September 15, 2010 being required to submit additional personal information that will be cross-checked against the national No-Fly list.

The following information, from the Transportation Security Administration, details the specifics behind the new program, designed to keep America safer:

Secure Flight is a behind the scenes program that enhances the security of domestic and international commercial air travel through the use of improved watch list matching. By collecting additional passenger data, it will improve the travel experience for all airline passengers, including those who have been misidentified in the past.

When passengers travel, they will be required to provide the following Secure Flight Passenger Data (SFPD) to their airline when making a reservation:

  • Name as it appears on government-issued I.D. when traveling
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Redress Number (if available)

The airline will transmit this information to Secure Flight, who uses it to perform watch list matching. This serves to prevent individuals on the No Fly List from boarding an aircraft and to identify individuals on the Selectee List for enhanced screening. After matching passenger information against government watch lists, Secure Flight transmits the matching results back to airlines.

According to American Airlines, the new TSA mandate will require passengers to submit this information several days prior to any scheduled flight to allow for a security check:

As a result of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mandate, beginning November 1, all passengers will be required to have Secure Flight Passenger Data (SFPD) in their reservation at least 72 hours prior to departure.

While we are in support of airline security programs, the new Secure Flight Program gives federal agencies the authority to restrict domestic travel for anyone suspected of being a potential threat. We note that, according to recent federal reports, a “threat” may include not only tried-and-true Islamic terrorists like the Christmas Day underwear bomber (who was allowed to board a plane even after failing a security check and tip-offs to authorities), but by the government’s broader definitions, may also eventually include individuals like war veterans, right-wing Christians, survivalist types, Tea Party supporters and Constitutionalists.

Naturally, these policies would not be implemented overnight, and if you are a Tea Party goer you can fully expect to be allowed to board a domestic airplane. There is, however, the potential for abuse with this system that may eventually lead to travel-pass requirements much like those used in the former Communist East Block from the 1960′s through 1980′s when citizens were not allowed to travel domestically or internationally without explicit permission from the government.

50 Mind Blowing Facts About America That Our Founding Fathers Never Would Have Believed

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

If our Founding Fathers were alive today, what would they think of America?  Surely they would be very proud that the United States stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific and has built some of the most amazing cities that the world has ever seen.  They would probably be surprised that the country they founded went on to become the greatest economic machine in the history of the world, and they would be absolutely astounded by things like our interstate highway system and the Internet.  However, there are quite a number of things that they would be horrified about as well.  The fact that over 40 million Americans are dependent on the federal government for their daily food would be deeply disturbing to our founders.  Also, the fact that the U.S. government has accumulated the greatest mountain of debt in human history would be incredibly distressing to George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and the rest of the founders.  But perhaps most of all, our founders would be absolutely disgusted that the land where Americans could once be free to pursue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness has become so tightly regulated and controlled that Americans dare not even squeak without the permission of the federal government.

Needless to say, our founders would certainly not understand many of our institutions or many of the advanced technologies that we have today.  But without a doubt they would be able to grasp how far we have fallen as a nation and how far we have strayed from the fundamental principles that they enshrined in our founding documents.  The United States is a much different place today than it was in 1776, and unfortunately many of the changes have been for the worse.

The following are 50 mind blowing facts about modern America that our Founding Fathers never would have believed….

#1 In 2010, not only does the United States have a central bank, but it also runs our economy and issues all of our currency.  The Federal Reserve has devalued the U.S. dollar by over 95 percent since 1913 and it has been used to create the biggest mountain of government debt in the history of the world.

#2 The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has ruled that U.S. government agents can legally sneak onto your property in the middle of the night, place a secret GPS device on the bottom of your car and keep track of you everywhere that you go.

#3 The 50 wealthiest members of Congress saw their collective fortunes increase by 85.1 million dollars to $1.4 billion in 2009.

#4 The U.S. government has accumulated a national debt that is rapidly approaching the 14 trillion dollar mark.

#5 All over the United States, asphalt roads are being ground up and are being replaced with gravel because it is cheaper to maintain.  The state of South Dakota has transformed over 100 miles of asphalt road into gravel over the past year, and 38 out of the 83 counties in the state of Michigan have now turned some of their asphalt roads into gravel roads.

#6 Americans now owe more than $849 billion on student loans, which is more than the total amount that Americans owe on their credit cards.

#7 In 2010, Americans waste an astounding amount of food.  According to a study by the California Integrated Waste Management board, 63 percent of the average supermarket’s waste stream is food. When you break that down, it means that each supermarket wastes approximately 3,000 pounds of food each year.

#8 The city of Cleveland plans to sort through curbside trash to ensure that people are actually recycling properly.  If it is discovered that some citizens are not recycling they will be hit with very large fines.

#9 Once upon a time, U.S. industry was the envy of the world.  But since 1979, manufacturing employment in the United States has fallen by 40 percent.

#10 Even though the U.S. population has exploded in size, the number of Americans with manufacturing jobs today is smaller than the number of Americans who were employed in manufacturing in 1950.

#11 Having one out of every eight Americans enrolled in the food stamp program is now considered “the new normal” and Americans continue to drop into poverty in astounding numbers.

#12 One out of every six Americans is now being served by at least one government anti-poverty program.

#13 A family of four actually has difficulty surviving on an income of $50,000 a year in America in 2010.

#14 Barack Obama is backing a proposal to create a national database that will store the DNA of all individuals who have been arrested, even if they end up not being convicted of a crime.

#15 In 2010, it takes the average unemployed American worker over 8 months to find a job.

#16 The U.S. government has made some parts of Arizona off limits to U.S. citizens because of the threat of violence from Mexican drug smugglers.  The federal government has actually posted signs more than 100 miles north of the Mexican border warning travelers that certain areas are unsafe because of drug and alien smugglers.

#17 One recent survey of last year’s college graduates discovered that 80 percent moved right back home with their parents after graduation.

#18 In one of the very first military commissions held under the Obama administration, a U.S. military judge ruled that confessions obtained by threatening the subject with rape are admissible in court.

#19 The average American worker now pays literally dozens of different kinds of taxes each year.

#20 In recent years the U.S. government has spent $2.6 million tax dollars to study the drinking habits of Chinese prostitutes and $400,000 tax dollars to pay researchers to cruise six bars in Buenos Aires, Argentina to find out why gay men engage in risky sexual behavior when drunk.

#21 Christians are being arrested and thrown in jail in some areas of the United States for quietly passing out Christian literature on public sidewalks.

#22 The Florida State Department of Juvenile Justice has announced that it will begin using cutting edge analysis software to predict crime by young delinquents and will place “potential offenders” in prevention and education programs.

#23 Organic milk is now considered such a national crisis that the FDA has been conducting military style raids on Amish farmers in the state of Pennsylvania.

#24 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently announced that they are considering a crackdown on farm dust.

#25 According to a new CDC report, nearly half of all Americans now use prescription drugs on a regular basis.

#26 Oakland, California Police Chief Anthony Batts says that due to severe budget cuts there are a number of crimes that his department will simply not be able to respond to any longer.  The crimes that the Oakland police will no longer be responding to include grand theft, burglary, car wrecks, identity theft and vandalism.

#27 Today, Americans are losing their homes in staggering numbers.  One out of every seven mortgages was delinquent or in foreclosure during the first quarter of 2010.

#28 Many of our leading scientists are now calling themselves “transhumanists” and are openly proclaiming that a future where men have fully merged with machines is inevitable.

#29 Americans who spend large amounts of cash are viewed as “potential criminals” by the U.S. government in 2010.

#30 New full body security scanners going into airports all across the United States can actually see through our clothing and produce very clear and very detailed images of our exposed bodies as we walk through them.

#31 The U.S. financial system has become a massive gambling parlor in 2010.  As a result, a horrific derivatives bubble has developed that threatens to destroy our entire economy at any moment.  Nobody knows exactly how big the derivatives bubble is, but low estimates place it at around 600 trillion dollars and high estimates put it at around 1.5 quadrillion dollars.  Once that bubble pops there simply will not be enough money in the entire world to fix it.

#32 The U.S. government is spending an amount of money equivalent to approximately 25.4 percent of GDP this year.

#33 Today, 10,000 people make 30% of the total income in the United States.

#34 A 2006 Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigation discovered that 250 employees of the Defense Department used credit cards or PayPal to purchase images of children in sexual situations.  However, the investigation also found that the Pentagon investigated only a handful of those cases.

#35 According to a recent poll of Americans between the ages of 44 and 75, 61% said that running out money was their biggest fear. The remaining 39% thought death was scarier.

#36 Approximately 57 percent of Barack Obama’s 3.8 trillion dollar budget for 2011 consists of direct payments to individual Americans or is money that is spent on their behalf.

#37 A recent Department of Justice guide for investigators of criminal and extremist groups lists “constitutionalists” and “survivalists” alongside organizations like Al-Qaeda and the Aryan Brotherhood.

#38 The U.S. trade deficit has exploded to nightmarish proportions over the past two decades.  Every single month tens of billions more dollars goes out of the United States than comes into it.  Essentially, the United States is becoming far poorer as a nation each and every month.

#39 Factories are closing in droves across the United States because the American people would rather buy things made in China.

#40 Millions upon millions of good paying middle class jobs are being shipped off to China and they are never coming back.  Meanwhile, U.S. politicians stand by idly and do nothing.

#41 Some analysts now believe that China could become the largest economy in the world by the year 2020.

#42 If the U.S. government was forced to use GAAP accounting principles (like all publicly-traded corporations must), the annual U.S. government budget deficit would be somewhere in the neighborhood of four to five trillion dollars.

#43 According to one recent survey, 28% of all U.S. households have at least one person that is currently searching for a full-time job.

#44 The U.S. dollar continues to rapidly decline in value.  An item that cost $20.00 in 1970 will cost you $112.35 today.  An item that cost $20.00 in 1913 will cost you $440.33 today.

#45 Major international organizations are actually proposing that the United States start considering the adoption of a truly global currency.

#46 Students at a high school in Missouri have built a car that they claim can get up to 450 miles per gallon.  On another note, some of the top energy experts in the world believe that thorium could solve our energy problems and supply very cheap energy for society for hundreds of thousands of years.  But in today’s world technologies such as these are endlessly suppressed by the rich and powerful.

#47 One Colorado high school student is seeking an explanation from officials at his school after he was ordered by security guards to remove American flags from his truck because they might make other students at the high school ”uncomfortable”.

#48 Three California high school students were recently forced to remove their American flag T-shirts on Cinco de Mayo.

#49 Memorial crosses erected along Utah public roads to honor fallen state troopers have been found unconstitutional by a federal appeals court and now must be removed permanently.

#50 One group of high school students made national headlines recently when they revealed that a security guard ordered them to stop singing the national anthem during a visit to the Lincoln Memorial.

Gamer from Fort Gay, WV Suspended for Offensive Name

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

Microsoft Corp. and the chief rules enforcer for Xbox Live are apologizing to a small West Virginia town and a 26-year-old gamer accused of violating the online gaming service’s code of conduct by publicly declaring he’s from Fort Gay – a name the company considered offensive.

The town’s name is real. But when Moore tried to tell Seattle-based Microsoft and the enforcement team at Xbox Live, they wouldn’t take his word for it. Or Google it. Or check the U.S. Postal Service website for a ZIP code.

Instead, they suspended his gaming privileges for a few days until Moore could convince them the location in his profile, “fort gay WV,” wasn’t a joke or a slur: It’s an actual community of about 800 in Wayne County, along West Virginia’s western border with Kentucky.

“I figured, I’ll explain to them, ‘Look in my account. Fort Gay is a real place,’” Moore reasoned. But the employee was unreceptive, warning Moore if he put Fort Gay back in his profile, Xbox Live would cancel his account and keep his $12 monthly membership fee, which he’d paid in advance for two years.

“I told him, Google it – 25514!” Moore said, offering up the town’s ZIP code. “He said, ‘I can’t help you.”

Does Earth Shift After New Zealand Quake Validate Pole Shift Theory?

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

A recent theory put forth by Brent Miller of the Horizon Project suggests that there is historical evidence that the slow moving theory of Pangea, which is generally accepted by most geologists, is not exactly accurate. According to the Horizon Project, it did not take some 200 million years for the continents to reach their current locations, but rather, a violent and rapid destabilization of the Earth’s crust caused Pangea to break up rather quickly, over a period of weeks or months, as opposed to eons.

Though hard to believe at first, according to Miller, the idea that changes on the Earth require millions of years is not always correct and the breakup of Pangea was one such event, likely caused by what is referred to as a “pole shift,” when the North and South poles of the earth shift from one point to another. Such an event would then lead to a rapid, almost immediate destabilization of the Earth’s crust, literally causing continents to break apart, and in some cases, to be completely submerged thousands of feet below the oceans. The story of the mythical city of Atlantis could be one such example of a civilization that was completely wiped out by this type of event.

A visual of this rapid destabilization effect is offered in the blockbuster movie 2012, in which the state of California, from the San Andreas fault line all the way to Las Vegas falls off the map of the Earth. And while the movie 2012 is considered science fiction, there may be some scientific validity to it if the research conducted by Brent Miller and his team is to be believed.

Finding modern day evidence for this, however, is hard to come by. But, a glimmer of hope for Miller’s pole shift / crust destabilization theory may be found in recent activity along the Pacific and Australian tectonic plates, which led to a large earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale in the country of New Zealand:

The earthquake that devastated a city in New Zealand tore open a new 11ft faultine in the Earth’s surface.

The 7.1-magnitude quake which hit Christchurch, the country’s second-largest city, destroyed about 500 buildings and caused an estimated £930million of damage.

The quake was caused by the continuing collision between the Pacific and Australian tectonic plates, said Professor Mark Quigley, of Canterbury University.

‘One side of the Earth has lurched to the right … up to 11ft and in some places been thrust up,’ he said. ‘We went and saw two houses that were completely snapped in half by the earthquake.’

source: Daily Mail

Whether or not a similar but more powerful event caused Pangea to break up as a result of a pole shift remains to be proven. After all, we’re talking about geologic movements spanning hundreds of miles, as opposed to a mere eleven feet.  But, we may very well experience such an event in the near future if the Horizon Project’s estimation that a new pole shift will occur on December 21, 2012 proves to be correct.

The Horizon Project estimates that the Earth is about to cross over the rumored Central Galactic Plane, believed to be an area of significant electro-magnetic and gravitational disturbance resulting from the super-massive black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy. Crossing the plane will ultimately lead to a shift in the Earth’s pole, according to Miller, resulting in what can only be deemed Armageddon.
